Rain starting late this weekend through most of next week

By: JohnnyParker , 11:18 AM GMT on June 08, 2012

Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 60 and it feels like 60. Highs will continue to range between 81 and 92 with lows between 66 and 70. There is a slight chance of a shower or storm on Saturday. Precipitation chance for next week will be between 30% to 60% of isolated to scattered thunderstorms. A few storms could be strong to severe each day with the main threats being gusty winds, large hail, heavy rain, and isolated flash flooding. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 64 and it feels like 64. Todays high is 88 with a low of 67. Saturdays high is 86 and a low of 70 with a slight shower or storm possible.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all remains quiet. Long-range: models are still hinting at a tropical system getting into the Gulf near the end of the month. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet.

Hope yall are having a great Friday and I'll have another post tomorrow morning. Continue to pray for the tornado victims and those affected by damaging weather events.
