Good Morning! Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for North MS until 12pm tomorrow. Snow/sleet accumulations up to one inch to locally 2 inches with ice accumulations less than one tenth of an inch. At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 36 and it feels like 30. Highs will continue to range between 40 and 65 with lows between 24 and 42. There is a 30% chance of AM showers today, an 80% chance of a wintry mix to rain tomorrow, and a 50% chance of AM light rain/ice on Wednesday. Some power outages will be possible. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 34 and it feels like 23. Todays high is 41 and a low of 26 with a slight chance of rain. Tuesdays high is 37 with an 80% chance of a wintry mix.
Now, for your Winter/Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There is no winter or severe weather threats in the long range.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the North Indian Ocean, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere, Severe Tropical Storm Fobane has winds of 65mph with a pressure of 977mbars. Movement is Southwest at 24mph. Is not a threat to land and is expected to remain a tropical storm over next few days. Also, in the Southern Hemisphere, Tropical Low #09U has winds of 30mph with a pressure of 988mbars.
