Saturdays high is 62 with a slight chance of rain with South winds at 15mph with higher gusts.

I did see snow early yesterday morning. We had no accumulations here in North MS, but it was a pretty sight to see.

Precipitation amounts appear light, but could cause hazardous travel conditions. At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 9 and it feels like 0. Highs will continue to range between 30 and 65 with lows between 17 and 50. Watch out for ice on bridges, roads, and overpasses again this morning. There is a slight chance of rain on Friday, a 70% chance of light rain on Saturday, a 50% chance of showers on Sunday, and a slight chance of rain on Monday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 7 and it feels like 7. Todays high is 28 with a low of 17. Wednesdays high is 43 and mostly cloudy.

Very cold temperatures expected today into tomorrow, Rain returns late week

Good Morning! A Wind Chill Advisory is now in effect for North MS until 12pm today. Wind chill values of below zero expected. At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 18 and it feels like 18. Highs will continue to range between 21 and 65 with lows between 8 and 48. Winds today will be out of the Northwest at 20mph with higher gusts. Many locations of the Mid-South and Southeast may not get above freezing until late Wednesday morning. Watch out for ice on bridges, roads, and overpasses this morning. There is a 40% chance of showers on Thursday, a 40% chance of showers on Friday, a 40% chance of showers on Saturday, a 30% chance of a few showers on Monday, and a 60% chance of showers Monday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 15 and it feels like -2. Todays high is 18 and a low of 7 with winds out of the North-Northwest at 20mph with higher gusts. Tuesdays high is 29.

Extreme and brutal cold blast expected next week across Mid-South/Southeast

Good Morning! A Special Weather Statement is in effect for North MS concerning coldest air in 20 years. At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 36 and it feels like 28. Highs will continue to range between 20 and 64 with lows between 9 and 46. Coldest air in about 10 years or more coming next week. A hard freeze is expected. There is a 70% chance of rain to wintry mix/wind tomorrow with winds out of the Southwest at 20mph with higher gusts. Snow is expected late Sunday with accumulations expected. Accumulations of around one inch or less is possible across Southern Counties of North MS and 1-2 inches (possibly 3) across Northern Counties of North MS near Tennessee Border. In addition, freezing rain accumulations of few hundredths of an inch of ice. Wind chill values will be between 0 to -10. Many locations of the Mid-South and Southeast may not get above freezing until late Wednesday morning. As front passes through by late Sunday, temperatures will start to plummet and bridges, overpasses, and roads could freeze. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 35 and it feels like 26. Todays high is 50 with a low of 37. Sundays high is 47 and a low of 11 with an 80% chance of rain to wintry mix/wind. Winds out of the West-Southwest at 23mph with higher gusts. Mondays high is 17 with a low of 8.

Rain Sunday and very cold air coming in next week

Good Morning! A Special Weather Statement is in effect for North MS concerning low temperatures in low teens to single digits for both Sunday and Monday nights. Mondays high will be in the teens with wind chill values below zero. At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 20 and it feels like 11. Highs will continue to range between 26 and 62 with lows between 10 and 41. Coldest air in about 10 years or more coming next week. Potential for a hard freeze. There is a 70% chance of rain on Sunday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 19 and it feels like 9. Todays high is 36 with a low of 23. Saturdays high is 48.

Now, for your Winter/Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There could be winter weather potential around the 5th-13th.

Coldest air in a very long time coming next week, could be record breaking

Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 31 and it feels like 26. Highs will continue to range between 28 and 59 with lows between 13 and 39. There is a slight chance of rain today, and an 80% chance of rain on Sunday. Winds today out of the Northwest at 20mph with higher gusts. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 48 and it feels like 48. Todays high is 46 and a low of 20 with a slight chance of rain. Winds out of the North-Northwest at 20mph with higher gusts. Fridays high is 34.

Now, for your Winter/Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There could be winter weather potential around 14th-15th. There could be severe weather potential possibly around January 10th.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the North Indian Ocean, no development is expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere, Intense Tropical Cyclone Bejisa has winds of 125mph with a pressure of 953mbars. Movement is South-Southeast at 8mph. Bejisa is expected to weaken to a category 2 storm by Friday and then a category 1 storm over the weekend. No landfall is expected as it will remain offshore of Madagascar.
