The tropics are quiet

There are no areas of interest to discuss in the tropical Atlantic or Eastern Pacific today, and the computer models are not predicting any significant development over the next six days.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

You may be right Michael about this being extratropical.

If it were a truly cold-cored tropical low, it would get whacked by the shear.

Don't see a TS coming out of the current convection in the SW Carrib but, it could happen.

12z NOGAPS shows a TS approaching FL.

They have done this twice before over the last month, and nothing came to pass.

I would imagine that Dr. Masters will probably not put too much stock in this solution either, especially since none of the other models have even hinted at it.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.....

To try & regulate the Tropics..would be like rewiring the Earths thermostat.Bad Idea. The tropics are the Heat pump..that drives a much larger scale engine. To disrupt that influence.Would send the Planet into utter Weather Chaos

hey...seeing that we're looking at the far fetched and nearly impossible as a ways to cure all the earths problems..why don't we look at how we can convert the wasted hot air generated in this blog to energy....we could eliminate our dependence on oil.....dismantle all nuclear power plants...undamn every river....

The idea is Unreal at best..LOL...Mans attempt to control weather is another sign of a Futile mind..given to delusions of Grandeur. The forces are to big.And our influence on the Planet as a whole. Is bad ebough now.Lets just Fiddle around with Solar Heating witha Giant Sunshade,If you want to study Parasols in Space.may I suggest Skylab. The station was saved by installing a Parasol sunshade on the Orbiting outpost, that was ripped away during Launch. The first crew to arrive via Apollo spacecraft..With Pete Conrad..installed a Sun-shade to reduce the Temps inside..therefore saving the Vehicle and Program.
