I am a teacher and I enjoy living along Lake Michigan. It is a beautiful place that makes me feel like I am on vacation all year long!

I didn't update this morning, too busy with holiday preparations. Also, too busy with the melting snow, trying to keep it from falling off the roof and onto the frozen driveway and then back into the garage if we didn't keep up with the slushie mess. It was fun to be outdoors and the 36F weather seemed balmy after so much cold these past few days.
Today it rained, snowed, melted and refroze. The wind at one point was blowing at a sustained 40MPH and gusts up to 58MPH. That is life in Michigan - so much changes in one day.
Another thing changed today, too. My husband received an email this afternoon saying he would be going back to work on January 5. It is our own Christmas miracle. We never expected this and we are just thrilled. So, those of you struggling to survive = remember there is hope. We have had faith and hope for many months (some of them were dark, sad months), but we tried to remain positive and we are hoping the same for others. May the holidays remind us of how hope and faith can remain alive in the darkest of times.
Have a great Christmas!
