Summer Along Lake Michigan

The first day of summer was sunny, cloudy, rainy and basically unpredictable along Lake Michigan. I walked a mile and saw the lake with it's foggy cool water in contrast to the blue sky over my head. I picked some yellow flowers along the road that I will have to look up in my Peterson field guide today.
The summer cottage rental guests were huffing and puffing on their bicycles along the bike path as I encouraged them that "it was downhill soon!"
The ferns, tall dune grass and myrtle were all thick and lush from the recent rains.
