I am a teacher and I enjoy living along Lake Michigan. It is a beautiful place that makes me feel like I am on vacation all year long!

Thanks for being faithful weather friends Karen and Sandi. I appreciate your communications, even when I don't seem to be very faithful to the weather blog!
Today is the first day of spring and there are so many changes in our weather and in our life here along the shores of Lake Michigan. The snow has all melted and hopefully will not return. Rain is predicted today which will begin the process of getting the grass to turn green again and the bulbs growing.
I am posting a picture I took yesterday. The first one is our local shopping plaza. I sent this one to my daughter in Montreal to show here the clear sidewalk and the tulips growing in the planter. The next ones are the local "farm" store where every spring they carry chicks, ducks, and rabbits to be sold to local farmers. You can't purchase less than 6 of one kind - so I assume that is to keep people from buying them as Easter pets. It is not a mainstream shopping area - my husband likes to go there and look at the tools. **No luck posting the chicks and ducks - I guess I have forgotten how to upload to this blog! Shore is right - I prefer the darkside (Facebook)!!
I'm anxious to catch up on the weather blogs this morning. I have two jobs, a grad class and an adult son living at home. There seems to be a bit too much on my plate right now!!!
Oh yes - spring break is coming up in 2 weeks!!!! Yippee!
Oh yes, I got a new iphone 4 and it is the coolest gadget ever. I love the camera facing forward or out. It takes an awesome picture and it is so easy to upload and share. If you need a new phone - the iphone is truly amazing. (I haven't even made a call on it yet since I am so busy doing the other things with it!)

March is here and:
*We continue to have snow on the ground and snowbanks piled 2 feet high along the roads
* Our driveway is barely visible with a shelf of packed ice about an inch thick
*37 degrees and rain yesterday "helped" my son get Dad's car stuck in our very long driveway (We shoveled it out together)
*Snowing and 34 degrees here this morning as I sit here at my computer
Don't you wish YOU lived in the midwest???
I haven't taken any pictures recently. Pictures of snow and ice get really borriiiinnnngggg. When the daffodils and tulips start to pop up in April, it will be more inspiring.
March is Reading Month and the Scholastic book fair is set up at our school. A picture from the fair will be more colorful and fun than another snow picture.
