Pool time! Baby it's hot out!

Too hot for just about anything right now -- other than the pool...
Compared to most birds who just find a puddle, this must seem like the country club of pools. :D
17 birds playing at once makes for quite the entertainment.  I know for many of you 90 would be likely a blessing, but when you've spent so much of your winter at NEGATIVE 50 F, it really is pretty hot.  All things are relative are they not?  And let us not forget we had a big snow on Mother's Day... Not that long ago for this kind of change.
This is usually our hottest week of the year, can't say I'm not anxious to see next week lol.  There was talk of ice cream for dinner tonight.
I keep telling myself not to worry, September is almost here!  You see, in 2012 while doing charity work for the city of Great Falls, I filmed the  banks of the Missouri River for erosion knowledge all from my kayak.  I was dressed for the day, heavy weight wadders, and lots of fleece,  as well as a heavy duty rain coat as it was snowing....  Ahhh yes heat today, gone tomorrow... September but just a month away...
Meanwhile, the wild canaries sing to us as we dip in the pool.

Maybe I missed it in trying to catch up with you... but what got you into the birds? you just fly them or do you eat them?

I dont even own a gun but I know there is a time down where I live, that men go out and do dove hunting...

Ha Ha GardenGrrl !  Mine act like it is a hot tub too.  They can empty it pretty fast, but that's better than algae and mosquitos going rampant. ;)  July is our hottest month, and the day I posted this has been our highest temps this year.
Calpoppy,  Yea, our roof has done that, a building too.  Long walks to gather everything up again.  You can't tell if it's a snowdrift or something buried til you go diggin.  Ugh! lol
Today is another scorcher, currently we are at 95* F for a high.  bleck!  Thought I'd be watering foooooorrrrrrever to just keep things from dyin.
Looking forward to cooler temp -- and some cloud cover!

We deal with the wind here a lot, sometimes it is welcome when it is hot. Most of our stuff outside is made to stand the wind, every once in awhile will have something blow to who knows where. One time a far neighbor of ours had part of his metal roof blow off. I watched it blow right by our cabin. We retrieved it the next day.

The chilly water sounds sooo good!

Glad to see your pics are still here :)

Those are some happy birdies. I love doves and pigeons. Those guys look so cute playing at the country club.
I have one bird bath that kept going empty and I thought there was a leak. Finally caught several rock pigeons crowded in it like a hot tub party.

Well I did hear from an Admin and he said I did nothing wrong, it was a mistake on their part shewwww feel much better now -- Just couldn't imagine what line I may have crossed.
Heat, ya, swelter and melt-her.  lol.  If I have shade, I do "Ok".  It's so odd that you wear a hat (trapping the heat in from your body) and yet you can feel cooler if it has a nice wide brim.  As you can tell, my yard has NO shade, other than inside the pole barn.  I am hoping we can build a peragola next year.  The canopy you can put up like you'd use for camping, was ripped the first time I put it up this year - first time out of the bag to boot.  Wind picked it up and tossed it into one of the shepard hooks catching it on a corner.  Irritating.  I just haven't figured out how big, or where to put the peragola yet...
I still have two stock tanks from the horses when they were here, come on over, water out of the cistern is chilly good! :)

Just a little WU glitch! Looks like all is right now. You sound like me with the hot weather! My job before I retired was outdoors, and I loved it, but when it got hot I just wilted, LOL!

I be tempted to wade in the big black rubber bird bath ;) Or find a stock tank somewhere, LOL!

I 're submitted'. Looks like they are back?  They also removed a pic from the previous blog - I must be a blogging idiot, I just don't see a problem.  *scratching head*. All pics were previously approved...
Well, now that I've settled a little, yes the NEG 50 is our winter F temp, wind chill would be additional.  90F with zero clouds are forecasted for today. I think sunblock won't be enough, maybe I need a summertime aluminum poncho to deflect the UV ;). If nothing else, I might just dump a bird bath over my head! :). I too am looking for cooler weather and hiking!

I came by to comment on your white dove pictures and the are gone! Sometimes Wu has a glitch or 2 or 75, LOL! -50 in the winter, that is a tad cold ;) Is that with the wind chill? They pics were good by the way ))

90 is hot no matter what. We like to hike with our pups and that is just plain uncomfortable for dog or man! We do it and carry lots of water for the dogs but the fall, winter and spring is our seasons to go out and have fun in the hills and mountains!
