ROFL.. only you would think 100" of snow is a good thing! LOL

glad you are having your dream winter...but hope it is not something that happens every year.

I would rather have my sub-tropical winter weather back again....

But I do enjoy the pictures of your igloos!

enjoy your weekend.

You need more snow??? 82 inches not enough? Is it already melted? I got ZERO overnight from the predicted 2-4 inches, what a let down this morning...

Hey, get it straight Bangor, it's 83 inches after the inch I got on Monday. Still looks like Maine here. Huge snowpack still. Main roads are pavement but often missing a lane here and there. The side roads are totally suspect, like mine. I still want more snow. Why not? My dream season can continue for a little while longer. I hope.

Okay Heavy, Dear.
You got your snow. And then you got more snow. And then you got some more snow. And then, some more snow.

So when was the last comment on this blog, before mine?

And what did that poster say?

I usually apply a 100% rule, but in your case, I think a 1000% rule may apply. That's not in terms of snow delivery, but in terms of snow picture delivery. Will be happy to see them when they appear.

Wish Princess Heavy Happy Birthday from all her WU aunts.

Heavy - you are the only one I could think of that would really appreciate this picture. My grandsons went up to play in the snow last Monday. Our local mountains have really received a lot of snow - the ski resorts are thrilled! Anyway, they went up to Mt. Baldy to sled, and came across this igloo. They DID NOT BUILD IT - but found it just like this! Isn't it cool???

It took them a mere 1 1/2 hours to get to this location. You can literally play on the beach in the morning and then 2 hours later go skiing- should you be so inclined.

Thanks for dropping by all. I'm glad when you think of lots of snow, heavy snow, you think of me. Fondly even, perhaps. I am indeed in heaven and lazy. No igloo yet, but it can be built with this snow gams. I can do it. Coming soon.

67 inches so far for the season. 10-20 forecasted starting tomorrow afternoon. Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

so no new forts from this one..until it melts for a little while.

got some pics she sent today of Grandson's first sled ride in the snow.

Hope all is well and you and the kids are having fun!

Hurry Up Spring LOL!!!

My frozen tundra snow is compacted and powderized. It's not conducive to play in. The only thing I can do now is go out and CHOP it up with an axe, shovel it into a pile in the shady spot of my yard, and wait for the Spring temps and a little moisture so I can work with it. Sigh, HEAVY JEALOUSY LOL!

All kidding aside, Here's hoping you and family can get out and enjoy nature's bounty...

Wow! Your seasonal total even at Reagan National has surpassed Denver, and Dulles will be well ahead of us!! We are expecting the first good snow out here in a while with 3-6" forecast tomorrow into Monday. That's just flurries compared to your storm LOL. Right now the "official" season total is at 40.2" for Denver, and we've had 42" for the season at our house.

This storm looks like it will set the all-time single-storm record for Baltimore, and now Philly looks poised to record it's second 20" storm in the same winter!!

Anyway...enjoy the storm...this has to be the most awesome snow season you've ever seen :)

Heavy,

Saw over on Bliz blog your power went out last night around mid night and just now on again.

I'll bet you are in heaven with 2 big storms within a few weeks of each other.

You probably love these El Nino winters LOL

Daughter over in West Chester, PA (30 miles west of Philly) as of 7am had 18" and still has not stopped so much more by now.

She send me some pics I put in my header she took at 7am this morning.

She got Baron (2yrs old) a snow suit so they are hoping tomorrow ti take Baron out for his first time to play in snow and go sledding.

Enjoy your snow!

Good morning Heavy,
Guess you're out running errands to get ready for another Monster Storm!! When this one is done, the DC area will have had more snow this winter than Denver has had. LOL how often does that happen?! Denver has had 40" at the airport so far this season, and we've had 42" at our house. But very little snow in the last month. You may top 50" for the season with this storm. Guess this makes up for all those "snowless" winters...enjoy :)

Afternoon HEAVY, the kids will enjoy skiing or snowboarding. Rob heavy on the snowboard, Emily might be more inclined to avail herself of the social parts of the excursion, with a little skiing involved, she has not been on skis previous.
The conditions look to be ideal for them, and they do have a grand time. No old folks, and the chaperones only in thier twenties all hands do have a grand time that is talked about from one year to the next.
Thanks for dropping by

After weeks of cold weather, we are now getting temperatures warm enough to get the snow sticky to build.

Our snowfort now has one complete room, and we are adding another bigger room. We are going to try and finish it tommorow. We are supposed to get some freezing rain followed by several inches of snow, up to 9 inches.

conditions...listen for updated statements.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
==Discussion==
a strong storm system pushing across the western United States is
forecast to move into the American plains this weekend bringing
widespread snow to southern Manitoba beginning this evening.

This storm system is expected to occur in two phases. The initial
phase will bring an area of snow over southwest Manitoba this
evening spreading into the Red River valley and southeast Manitoba
tonight into Saturday morning. In general about 5 to 10 cm of snow
is expected with this initial band, with snow possibly mixed with ice
pellets or freezing drizzle at times. This area of snow will push
north into the interlake regions Saturday with snowfall tapering to
flurries or drizzle over southeastern Manitoba during the day
Saturday.

Snow is expected to Blossom again over southern Manitoba Saturday
night into Sunday as a stronger Colorado low system moves into
Minnesota. This system will likely bring another 10 to 15 cm
of snow Sunday through Monday morning. In addition strong northerly
winds gusting to 60 to 70 km/h will develop late Sunday and persist
through Monday morning. These strong winds combined with the falling
snow will likely generate poor visibilities in snow and blowing snow
over southern Manitoba with blizzard conditions possible in open
areas. The snow is expected to taper off to flurries Monday
afternoon and the winds gradually diminish Monday evening.

Total storm snowfall amounts from this evening through Monday
morning are expected to range from 15 to 25 cm over most of
southern Manitoba with a band of higher amounts of 25 to 30 cm
possible over western Manitoba especially along the Manitoba
Escarpment.

This winter storm can produce poor travelling conditions. Persons in
or near these areas should be on the lookout for adverse weather
conditions and listen for updated warnings.

Please refer to the latest public forecasts for further details.

End

I'm jealous. That's awesome.

Hey Mark! I'm at 25 inches for the season. Not too shabby for me. Only piles remain and some properly angled yards are still snow covered. More to come.

Our yard is like the last yard to have it's snow melt in my neighborhood! LOL

We are on a hill facing south, but the hill is mostly blocked by the house, and the rest of the yard is blocked by trees to the south, so our yard has a lot of shadows in the winter. It's funny how our neighbors across the street can have little or no snow cover in April and we still have a foot or more!

Well Heavy - I believe it's been a year since I visited you last....and you shared another igloo with us.

I just LOVE your igloo spirit! Your children are sooooooo lucky to have you as a dad. Trust me on this, spoken from a mom with two grown children and 2 grandchildren, they do reflect back and remember all the times just like this. They will stay with them forever. You might not think so for awhile...but then one day they'll share with you that that was the best time of their life and they'll be thankful for the fun memories you helped create for them.

Promise you on that one.

P.S. You all look GREAT and I can't believe how much the kids have grown! Don't stay away so long next time.
