A Dry Spring so Far.

By: HamWX , 11:38 AM GMT on April 12, 2010

Well March had no snow. The first time there wasn't snow in March since something like the 1940's. There wasn't but about a week of junky weather then spring was here.

Despite days and days of above freezing temps now, I did manage to see a small patch of snow left where it had been about 20ft deep in the dittch this past winter.

The ice all melted off the lakes 3 weeks ago. Last year we were ice fishing in mid-April the ice was so solid.

The Sioux river near me has been flooding for a month now but even though it seems wet because of the flooding in the area,it's been very dry. No rain in a month and half, since the begining of March.

No grass to cut yet but that'll be coming soon enough.
The grackles are loud and noisy as they pass through migrating.
If I want to have a garden I should plant something already.
