Wisconsin Weather Update for May 5, 2014.

Forecast Summary: Partly sunny and cool today. Warmer with thunderstorms Tuesday night through Thursday. Severe storms Wednesday?


Synopsis: A small disturbance is generating a band of showers across northern Wisconsin this morning. An area of high pressure will gradually dissipate these showers this morning, and the few breaks of blue sky this morning will becoming more numerous by this afternoon.
Conditions: Scattered showers in northern Wisconsin, otherwise mostly cloudy in the morning, maybe a sprinkle, but some sunshine this afternoon.
High Temp: Around 56 east-central, upper 50s south.
Winds: Just a small breeze from the east.

Conditions: Partly cloudy.
Low Temp: Upper 30s.

Synopsis: A developing low pressure system in the central Rockies and Plains will strengthen as it moves east. This system will generate showers and thunderstorms across Wisconsin tomorrow night and continue through Thursday. Warmer air between the warm front and the cold front will bring temps near or above 60 tomorrow, in the 60s Wednesday, and in the 70s Thursday.
Conditions: Partly cloudy for a while, then increasing clouds late. Scattered thunderstorms developing tomorrow night. Chance of rain tomorrow night 50%.
Temps: Highs near 60 east-central, low to mid- 60s south. 
Winds: Becoming more breezy from the southeast.

Extended Outlook:
Wednesday: Scattered thunderstorms and a little warmer. For the first time this year, the SPC has placed most of Wisconsin in the slight risk category for thunderstorms possibly becoming severe. Highs in the lower 60s east-central, upper 60s south. Chance of rain 50%.

Thursday: Scattered thunderstorms continue, but warmer yet. Severe weather on Thursday may stay to our west this time. Highs in the lower 70s east-central, upper 70s south . Chance of rain 50%.

Friday: Becoming partly sunny. Highs in the mid- 60s east-central, near 70 south.

This Weekend: Partly sunny. Highs in the 60s.
