Light snow all day today, then dry and colder for a while.
It has been about three weeks since my last Weather Update blog, so I missed out on blogging the blizzard last Thursday that dumped 10” of snow in our backyard and up to 20” of snow in Middleton, WI (although I did post a few weather-related notes on my Twitter and Facebook accounts.) I also missed out on some snarky Mayan end-of-the-world commentary in my blog, but ah well, life goes on (apparently now!)
As my headline indicates, a small disturbance is generating a blanket of mostly light snow across the southern half of Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Illinois, and northern Indiana. Most of us will generally see around 2” of snow by tonight, but you can see what is expected in your backyard by looking at the second link below, which is a NWS up-to-date expected snowfall map for Wisconsin. After today, things look mostly dry and gradually colder as we begin 2013. Highs by next Thursday may struggle to even hit the mid- teens!
