Wisconsin Weather Update

Wisconsin Weather Update for July 18, 2014.

By: HaleStorm, 1:10 PM GMT on July 18, 2014

Forecast Summary: Lots of sunshine with pleasant temperatures and humidity through the weekend. Warmer and stormy Mon/Tues.

Scientific Synopsis: Are you loving the slightly cooler, more relaxed summer so far?
A large area of high pressure currently stretching from eastern Wisconsin through the Ohio Valley and into the New England area is going to continue to bring sunshine and pleasant weather to Wisconsin today. Low pressure will move into the Hudson Bay, Canada area, but really shouldn’t bother us other than a few more clouds later Saturday and Sunday. Things get a little more active on Monday with a new low pressure system moving across the northern United States.  Scattered storms are expected Monday and especially Tuesday, and warmer, more humid air ahead of the system could bring temps deep into the 80s Monday and near 90 on Tuesday! Haven’t seen much of that number this summer, and come to think of it we’ve barely had any severe thunderstorm watches/warnings in east-central WI.

Wisconsin Weather Update for July 11, 2014.

By: HaleStorm, 1:24 PM GMT on July 11, 2014

Here’s your personally-researched weekend weather preview for east-central and southern Wisconsin:

Forecast Summary: Pleasant Friday, then more humid with scattered thunderstorms tonight and especially Saturday. Slight risk of severe Saturday.

Scientific Synopsis: A cold front stretching across North Dakota is helping develop a somewhat large line of storms across Iowa, southeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin this morning. It is expected that these will fizzle out before they get to eastern Wisconsin, but we will probably get our batch of storms tonight and especially tomorrow as the cold front slowly moves through. The SPC has put southern WI in the slight risk category for severe weather on Saturday as well (see link below). Colder air behind the front won’t get here until late on Sunday, so expect a warm and somewhat humid weekend, then a cooler and mostly dry next week.

Next Week’s Outlook:
