Wisconsin Weather Update

Wisconsin Weather Update for June 27, 2014.

By: HaleStorm, 1:17 PM GMT on June 27, 2014

Here’s your weekend weather preview for east-central and southern Wisconsin:

Forecast Summary: Becoming warmer and more humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms through Monday.

Scientific Synopsis: A slow-moving area of low pressure in the northern Rocky Mountains will bring warmer, more humid air ahead of it, affecting the Midwest through the weekend. And of course, warm, humid “tropical” air will make the atmosphere unstable, so you can expect random showers and thunderstorms to occasionally accompany you through Monday. The best chance of rain looks to come on Sunday into Monday as that’s when the actual system will finally move through, and the SPC has put us in the “slight risk” category for severe weather on Sunday (see link below). Western Wisconsin is in this same same “slight risk” category on Saturday as well.

Wisconsin Weather Update for June 20, 2014.

By: HaleStorm, 2:46 PM GMT on June 20, 2014

Forecast Summary: Isolated storms through the weekend. Highs mostly in the 70s.

Scientific Synopsis: A nearly-stationary area of low pressure in southern Saskatchewan, Canada, is working with a smallish disturbance in Wisconsin to develop a long line of rain showers across far eastern Wisconsin and Michigan. This gave us yet another round of rain last night and early this morning, but has since moved off to the east for almost all of Wisconsin. Somewhat humid air will keep isolated storms in the forecast through this weekend, but the next chance for any significant showers and storms doesn’t look to arrive until Sunday night or Monday.
