Clouds today, snow later tomorrow (heavier south).
We’ve got one major weather system we’re going to have to deal with this week. Another panhandle-hook-type low pressure system is going to develop today across Oklahoma, northern Texas and Arkansas, soak up a bunch of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, then shoot north-northeastward via the jet stream. The storm track is looking like south-central and southeastern Wisconsin are going to get the heavier amounts compared to the rest of the state, and a Winter Storm Watch has already been issued for those areas starting tomorrow afternoon. Some areas could see 4-6” by Wednesday, although for those of us in the Fox Valley, we’re more looking at a 1-3” snowfall range. Although 4” did close all major school systems here on Friday, so maybe the kids will get lucky yet again!
The snow should taper off to light snow or flurries on Wednesday, then we finally get out of this active weather pattern for a while. How does sunshine, clouds, and seasonable temps around 30 sound for the second half of this week and this weekend?
