Rain today, sunshine and clouds this weekend. Cooler but still very mild.
This unprecedented streak of over a week of high temperatures close to forty (40) degrees above normal ended yesterday, when we were ONLY thirty (30) degrees above normal. I know, terrible, right? Well, prepare to gasp, because we may only be twenty (20) degrees above normal this weekend, then only ten (10) degrees above normal for much of next week.

The strong, lingering areas of low pressure to our west and high pressure to our east that brought us that record-setting warmth are finally starting to move off, and cooler air is slowly returning to the Great Lakes region. I didn’t see any arctic plunges of nasty cold in the forecast, but cooler air will start returning and will be more noticeable next week when our highs may only be in the 50s. But hey, that’s still above our normal high of the mid- 40s, so we should still be happy about it. Really. So while the A/C and the kids’ sprinkler in the backyard got a little bit of action already, we will probably ignore both again for a while. As we should. It’s March, after all.
