Wisconsin Weekend Weather Recap
Most of our daytime active hours were rain-free with warm and somewhat humid temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds arrived both Friday night and Saturday night.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
We're going to follow last week's unstable weather pattern with a very stable pattern this week. A large area of high pressure is going to slowly drift our way from north-central Canada and should linger in the Midwest through Saturday. Expect high temperatures in the 70s with more-comfortable humidity levels. Enjoy!

Hopefully you got outside during this Father's Day weekend as there was lots of great weather to be had. With a mix of sunshine and clouds, high temperatures were in the upper 70s to near 80.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
The Summer Solstice is here as of 6:28am, and after today our daylight will start to get just a little bit shorter with each passing day. Will we be able to enjoy the longest day of the year today? Yes, but some of it may have to be enjoyed from indoors. Two low pressure areas centered in both Iowa and the Dakotas are going to bring showers and storms to much of the Midwest today. Scattered storms may continue through Wednesday night as our atmosphere continues to be somewhat unstable. How unstable you ask? Well, the Storm Prediction Center has much of Wisconsin under the slight risk category for severe weather today, tomorrow, and Wednesday.

Scattered rain showers with an isolated thunderstorm are currently noted stretching from Platteville...to Madison...to Beloit. Progression is slowly to the north...leading to periods of heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts will range from a tenth of an inch...up to an inch across Iowa...Madison...and green counties. This could create ponding on the roadways...so please drive with caution. A rumble of thunderstorm will remain possible across Iowa...green...and Dane counties through 8 am. Yesterday was a mostly cloudy but quiet day across Wisconsin. High temperatures were in the 70s and dew points were mostly comfortable in the 50s to lower 60s.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
A large area of high pressure remains in place just to our east, covering areas from northwestern Wisconsin through Lake Huron, then southward all the way to the well-oiled Gulf of Mexico. This high pressure system will move off to the east today, but not before giving us one more day of sunshine and pleasant weather. A strong low pressure system building off to our west will give us a chance for a thunderstorm overnight tonight. Very warm and humid air will arrive overnight and continue tomorrow with highs near 90 expected, and scattered thunderstorms that develop tomorrow afternoon and evening could become severe with all the pieces in place for some nasty weather.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
A southwest to northeast jet stream flow continues to bring moisture and storm systems through our region. That trend's going to continue as a slow-moving but not overly strong low pressure system currently centered in northern Missouri brings scattered showers and thunderstorms to most of the Midwest. We'll start seeing showers moving in from southwest to northeast today, and they will continue on-and-off through tomorrow before 36-hours of dry weather begins on Wednesday.

Yesterday was a pretty nice day, with the wind and isolated afternoon showers being the only annoyances. With a generally partly cloudy sky, high temperatures were in the mid- 70s in east-central Wisconsin and the upper 70s to near 80 south.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
The sunshine you may be enjoying right now won't last very long, as our next storm system, currently in the central Rockies, is brewing up a line of severe thunderstorm watch boxes ahead of it across most of Nebraska and Iowa this morning. We'll see clouds on the increase today as the storm system gets closer, then scattered storms are expected tonight and tomorrow. As of now the weather models are suggesting a precipitation trend to the north, so southern Wisconsin may not see quite as much rain compared to areas north, but by tomorrow evening many of us should have some water in our backyard rain gauges.

Yesterday’s Wisconsin Weather Recap
Besides a few scattered showers that developed yesterday afternoon, it was a pretty nice Sunday with comfortable high temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
An area of high pressure resting comfortably across the western Great Lakes should provide Wisconsin with one more day of cool, pleasant weather. A developing area of low pressure currently in the central Rockies will move east today, bumping the high pressure off to the east coast and giving Wisconsin a chance for some showers and isolated thunderstorms overnight tonight and through tomorrow. Expect a better chance of rain the further south you live as the low pressure system is expected to move through Illinois tomorrow.

Southern Wisconsin:
Look for patchy fog...especially over portions of the Wisconsin River Valley where visibilities were reduced to below 1/2 mile. Elsewhere a diminishing band of isolated showers was affecting portions of far southeast Wisconsin from near Burlington to near Kenosha. The showers in this band were moving to the southeast at 30 mph. Any fog will dissipate an hour or two after sunrise.

...Funnel cloud southeast of Sun Prairie Saturday afternoon...
Several people from different communities took pictures of a
funnel cloud that developed southeast of Sun Prairie around 210 PM
to 215 PM. Trained spotters noted that there was rotation in The
Funnel cloud...thus it was a true funnel cloud.

Dane County 911 dispatchers did not receive any reports of damage or
debris at ground level. Additionally we have no spotter reports of
ground contact that would result in damage. Therefore...based on
perliminary reports there was no true tornado in Dane County
Saturday afternoon.

There may have been another funnel cloud during the same time period
between just north of the Madison city limits....but we can not
confirm it.

Yesterday's weather consisted of clouds and scattered showers and thunderstorms, a few of which were briefly severe in southern Wisconsin. High temperatures varied across the state, but were generally in the 60s in northern and central Wisconsin, and in the 70s to even near 80 in a few spots in southern Wisconsin.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
Behind yesterday's frontal boundary which generated those scattered storms, cooler air will preside over the entire state today. A small area of high pressure is moving in and promises more sunshine today, but it won't last long as a new storm system arrives early tomorrow and a wet weather pattern looks to continue right through this weekend and into next week.

However...a few spots...especially west of a line from Fond Du Lac to Janesville...are seeing thicker fog with visibilities below 1 mile. Use caution while driving early this morning as visibility can change in a short distance. This fog should lift quickly this morning with the sun coming out.

Other than a few isolated thunderstorms in southern Wisconsin, Wisconsinites had very nice Memorial Day weather. There was a mix of sunshine and clouds, and high temperatures were generally in the mid- to upper 70s.

Today’s Wisconsin Forecast Synopsis
High pressure covering most of the south-central United States is stretching northward through the western Great Lakes, which conveniently, is where we live. However, an area of low pressure just entering southwestern Ontario has a cold front sweeping through northern Minnesota and the Dakotas, and will push through Wisconsin tonight and early tomorrow. So look for today's sunshine to give way to clouds late in the day, scattered showers and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, and cooler air to follow.
