Typhoon "KAREN" is now outside the Philippine Area Of Responsibility and continues to move towards the Southern island of Japan.

At 10:00 PM PhST, Typhoon Karen (Sanba) located at 25.2°N 128.3°E or 100 km south of Okinawa, Japan has 10 minute sustained winds of 100 knots with gusts of 120 knots. The cyclone is reported as moving north at 9 knots.

Additional Information
===========================

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15-30 mm per hour (heavy to intense) within the 550 km diameter of the typhoon.

"KAREN" will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon that will bring occasional moderate to heavy rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) and central Luzon. Residents in these areas are advised to be alert against possible flash floods and landslides.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the northern and eastern seaboards of northern Luzon, over the eastern seaboard of central Luzon, and over the seaboards of southern Luzondue to big waves generated by Typhoon "KAREN" and enhanced southwest monsoon.
