The area of disturbed weather associated with a low pressure system about 900 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico has not change much in organization during the past several hours. However, a tropical depression could form before the environment becomes less conducive for development in a couple of days.

Typhoon "KAREN" has maintained its strength and continues to move northward over the Philippine Sea.

At 10:00 PM PhST, Typhoon Karen (Sanba) located at 20.6°N 129.8°E or 720 km east of Basco, Batanes has 10 minute sustained winds of 100 knots with gusts of 120 knots. The cyclone is reported as moving north at 8 knots.

Additional Information
===========================

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15-30 mm per hour (heavy to intense) within the 550 km diameter of the typhoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the northern and eastern seaboards of northern Luzon, eastern seaboard of central Luzon, seaboards of southern Luzon, and over the eastern seaboard of Visayas due to big waves generated by Typhoon "KAREN".

"KAREN" will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon that will bring occasional moderate to heavy rains over central Luzon, Metro Manila, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA. Residents in these areas are advised to be alert against possible flash floods and landslides.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

At 10:00 AM PhST, Typhoon Karen (Sanba) located at 18.5°N 129.6°E or 740 km east of Aparri, Cagayan has 10 minute sustained winds of 100 knots with gusts of 120 knots. The cyclone is reported as moving north northwest at 8 knots.
