At 10:00 PM PhST, Tropical Storm Gener (Saola) located at 26.0°N 121.3°E or 560 km north northwest of Basco, Batanes has 10 minute sustained winds of 60 knots with gusts up to 75 knots. The cyclone is reported as moving north northwest at 4 knots.

Public Storm Warning Signal elsewhere is now lowered

With this development, this is the final bulletin on this weather disturbance.

However, this disturbance will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon bringing rains and moderate to strong winds over Luzon and Visayas.

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas affected by the Southwest Monsoon are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides.

Estimated rainfall amount is heavy (10-15 mm per hour) within the 600 km diameter of the tropical storm.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Seaboards of Luzon and Visayas due to the combined effect of Tropical Storm Gener and the southwest monsoon.

Typhoon "GENER" has maintained its strength and continues to move northward

At 10:00 PM PhST, Typhoon Gener (Saola) located at 22.0°N 124.0°E or 250 km northeast of Basco, Batanes has 10 minute sustained winds of 65 knots with gusts up to 80 knots. The cyclone is reported as moving north at 4 knots.

Typhoon "GENER" is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon that will bring rains and moderate to strong winds over Luzon and Visayas especially the western section.

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under Public Storm Warning Signal #3 and #2 are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Estimated rainfall amount is from heavy to torrential (10-35mm per hour) within the 700 km diameter of the typhoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Seaboard of Luzon and Visayas due to the combined effect of Typhoon "GENER" and the southwest monsoon.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 AM tomorrow.
