Tropical Cyclone Bulletin

Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The Hurricane Signal, No. 10, is in force.

This means that winds with mean speeds of 118 kilometers per hour or more are expected.

At 1 a.m., Severe Typhoon Vicente was centered about 100 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong Observatory and is forecast to move to northwest about 20 kilometers per hour towards the region to the west of the Pearl River Estuary then will move west-northwestwards later.

Vicente is expected to be closest to Hong Kong in the next few hours, passing within 100 km of the Hong Kong Observatory. The eyewall of Vicente will come near to the southwestern part of Hong Kong, bringing hurricane force winds to those areas.

This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometers per hour are expected.

At 7 a.m. HKT, Severe Tropical Storm Vicente was estimated to be about 310 kilometers south southeast of Hong Kong. Vicente is forecast to move north at about 8 kilometers per hour at first then will move in the general direction of the coast of western Guangdong later.

Tropical Depression "FERDIE" is now moving in a west northwest direction away from the country

At 4:00 PM PhST, Tropical Depression Ferdie located at 18.6°N 118.0°E or 240 km west northwest of Laoag City has 10 minute sustained winds of 30 knots. The depression is reported as moving west northwest at 8 knots.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the western seaboard of Luzon due to the combined effect of Tropical Depression "FERDIE" and the southwest monsoon.

At 10:00 AM PhST, Tropical Depression Ferdie located at 18.7°N 119.2°E or 130 km northwest of Laoag City has 10 minute sustained winds of 30 knots. The depression is reported as moving west at 8 knots.
