Hi! I am a test pilot (civilian though) at NAS Patuxent River, flying a large unmanned airplane. I live at MD50, a private airport in Lusby, MD

Well, the station has been running great. The Meteohub data logger just sits there and runs, it is a small application that runs on Linux on a " Sheevaplug" microPC, it looks like a wall wart power supply with an ethernet RJ45 plugged into it. I think i have rebooted it twice in over six months.
So we got these gully washer thunderstorms and i was noticing that while i did not record zero rain, it was nothing like the right amount either. Yesterday I went out to the Davis Vantage Pro installation on the windsock, dropped the windsock pole down, and inspected. The rain gage bucket had about an INCH of dirt in it, so was all plugged up. I was expecting bird poop. Nope! Dirt! How dirt got 15' into the rain gage bucker i have no idea. It should work fine now though.
