Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning with this image in the 24 hour loop it is not showing any cloudiness in the Sea.
Looking now over to the Mexican Riviera where it looks like they had mostly sunshine yesterday. There were a few passing whispys pass over during the night but today looks like an even better solar day. The only cloudiness I can see is from Zihuatanejo south to around Acapulco this morning.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific Basin along the ITCZ/monsoon trough I can see there a number of large hot spots with heavy thunderbumper activity between 110 and 125W but the clouds are not drifting north just a little east.
Looking back at the Gulf of Tehuantepec where the pressure gradient between the western Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf of Tehuantepec have winds whistling through the Chivela pass this morning increasing to Gale force by this afternoon and peaking around 40 knots this afternoon before diminishing below Gale force by tomorrow afternoon. Gale Advisories have been posted.
So with the exception of this Tehuantepecker the Sea and the Mexican Riviera look like they will be having a beautiful day with lots of sun and moderate winds.
That about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image a big honk’n low and associated cold front will be bringing heavy rain this weekend and then Monday it looks like the streets of both Portland and Seattle will have snow.
Sunday into Wednesday there will be a series of cold lows that move into both Northern and southern California. The first one will arrive in northern California Sunday morning bringing a chance of some light rain and much colder temperatures. A second one will arrive on Wednesday.
Looking at southern California where a strong, and rather dry very cold trough of low pressure will dig across the region through Monday night bringing very cold air and only a chance of rain to the low lands. The snow level will drop to around 2500 feet so north south traffic along the Grapevine will be affected.
The major effect of this Storm will be the damaging southwest and west winds in the mountains and deserts. Gusts up to 75 mph will be possible over the windier mountain ranges and deserts slopes from tomorrow night through Monday night.
Looking now over to the southwest where they can expect dry conditions with well above normal daytime temperatures this weekend.
A low pressure system will drop down from the Great Basin and move across the region early next week bringing cooler temperatures and gustery winds. Monday could see a chance of some showers mostly in the higher elevations. It will be cold until Wednesday when this system exits to the east then high pressure will return bringing dry conditions and back to normal daytime temperatures.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence we can expect to see very pleasant conditions all weekend.
Temperatures today about like yesterday except for along the Riviera where it should be a few degrees cooler than yesterday.
The Sea of Cortez should be in the low to mid 70s today.
