Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that for the past 24 hours this Sea has been pretty much cloud free. The cape area has some passing clouds yesterday morning but by the afternoon all of Baja was seeing sunshine.
Looking now over to the Mexican Riviera that moisture plume that has been bringing cloudiness to most of the Riviera for over a week has finally weakened, narrowed and this morning the plume is made up of widely scattered bands of what look like light mix of fluffys and whispys from around Cabo Corrienties south to Zihuatanejo. North of Cabo Corrienties sunshine today. South of Cabo Corrienties a good mix of sunshine and some cloudiness.
Looking now to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where the crossing window will be closing today with the arrival of a Tehuantepecker tomorrow. Gale force advisories have been posted starting tomorrow afternoon into Sunday.
Looking at the ITCZ/monsoon trough this morning I can see that along the zone there is only a few spots of moderate convection building this morning. One of these around 120W is the one that is producing the moisture plume that is drifting first north then east toward the Mexican Riviera.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where the eye is drawn to a big honk’n low approaching the Great Northwest this morning.
The state of Washington has been issuing both Flood Advisories and Flood Warnings for the past several days for numerous rivers throughout the state.
This very cold front will arrive this afternoon and has the potential to bring heavy wet snowfall and variable snow accumulations to the Cascades. The coastal ranges will get a mix of both rain and snow. Snow levels will drop to around 1000 feet.
This system will pass through by Sunday morning however rain and snow are forecast to last well into the upcoming week.
With the Storm track well to the north, northern California under high pressure, will be seeing abundant sunshine into the weekend and into next week. The next chance of any rain to Northern California could be about mid week.
Looking south to southern California where the bar is around 1013. The bar over the Nevada Plateau is around 1027 and that is giving cause to some gusterly conditions in the southland today.
Over the weekend that low off the southern California coast will slowly migrate east and perhaps bring some light showers to the mountains and the California deserts into Monday. Monday another fast moving low is forecast to move through southern California and then Tuesday and Wednesday high pressure will rebuild and bring clear skies and cool weather.
Looking now over to the southwest where high pressure aloft will remain centered to the west resulting in dry conditions and above normal daytime highs through Sunday.
On Sunday a low system will drop southward down from the Pacific Northwest into the western Great Basin on Monday. As the low moves across the region Monday and Tuesday the southwest can expect to see in increase in the winds and much cooler temperatures. The higher elevations in the White Mountains will most likely see some light snow accumulations as the system passes.
The rest of the week should be dry with near normal temperatures.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the Riviera will finally be seeing some sunshine. All of Baja will see abundant sunshine today. Moderate winds are forecast for the 3-day forecast period.
Temperatures will be in the mid 70s again today for most of the Sea. The Riviera in the mid 80s.
