Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning the water vapor imagery is showing that low off the Northern Baja coast starting to move NE and will be approaching the international border later this morning bringing some clouds across the northern end of the Sea and Arizona border towns but not that much further north. It looks like any cloudiness along the border should be gone by this afternoon.
The rest of the Sea look to be free of any cloudiness. I can see that a narrow moisture plume is headed toward the cape. When it arrives later this morning there will be what look like scattered multi level clouds that will be passing over the cape from La Paz south. moisture.
Looking south to the Riviera where that long moisture plume is still blanketing an area from roughly Puerto Vallarta south to Manzanillo this morning. As it has from the past week now the genius for this moisture plume is a hot spot on the ITCZ/monsoon trough right about 110N. The physical area of this hot spot is not very large but within this small area it is producing very powerful and tall thunderbumpers and it does not look like they will decay within the next 24 hours.
None of the reporting stations reported any rain accumulations over the past 24 hours.
Looking now at the Gulf of Tehuantepec where the Gale advisories were lifted yesterday morning and this morning the winds in the Gulf are all in the moderate ranges. By tomorrow the seas should have calmed down enough to open a crossing window.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific Basin this morning with the exception of a small Storm moving past Hawaii to the east the Pacific is pretty much clear this morning.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where as I mentioned there is a big honk’n low swirling in the Gulf of Alaska and it is the pulses of this system that will keep the Great Northwest’s low lands wet and the Cascades white. Today the Cascades should receive another foot of snow.
Not much of this will reach Northern California as a building high pressure ridge is keeping the Storm track to the north. The forecast for northern California into late in the week is for clear and dry.
Looking south to the other end of the state southern California under building high pressure will be clear and dry into probably Friday.
There is still some uncertainty on the timing of the next system to impact California. It could be as early as next Saturday. The next GFS computer runs will sort all this out.
Looking now over to the southwest where this morning they has some high clouds mostly along the border that are associated with a cold front moving up from Northern Baja. They should be gone by early afternoon. This is a very dry system and no precipitation is forecast for Baja or Arizona. In the wake of this system high pressure will fill in bringing warming temperatures and clear skies into the weekend. Temperatures could reach the mid 80s in the lower deserts by the end of the week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea will be seeing brisk to strong winds today and tomorrow but it does not look like they will move up the Sea today. Tomorrow from around Santa Rosalia south to Concepcion Bay will see the strongest winds and they will be ballpark around 20 knots. The rest of the Sea will be in the moderate ranges.
Thursday into the weekend look to be very pleasant wind-wise.
Temperatures today in the northern Sea will be in the mid 60s, the central sea low to mid 70s, the southern Sea mid to high 70s and the Riviera mid 80s today.
