Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see a few whispys passed over the northern Sea during the night and this morning it looks like the entire Sea is cloud free now.
Looking south I can see the same moisture plume that has been there for a week bringing cloudiness to the Mexican Riviera. This morning the plume extends from the southern crossing to Manzanillo.
Again this morning there are a few moisture laden dark bottomed cells that will be passing over during the day so there is a chance of isolated showers.
The genesis of these clouds continue to be an area along the ITCZ/monsoon trough between 110 and 125W and there are no indications that the building convection in this area will end in the near future.
A bit further out I can see a couple of weak lows embedded in the ITCZ/monsoon trough that the only affect they will have is to enhance the trade winds in that area.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific Basin this morning I can see that it has mostly high whispys all the way out to Hawaii this morning.
Looking back at the Tehuantepec where winds reported at the Salena Cruz station, on the northern shore of the Gulf, have been in the 20-25 knot ranges over the past several hours. Winds over the water are still at minimal Gale force and are forecast to persist through the morning hours and then diminish today as high pressure north of the area moderates and shifts east. They could have a crossing window open Wednesday. We’ll see?
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image I can see the Great Northwest will be wet all week. The Cascades will continue to see moderate snow.
The current system moving through the northwest will sag a bit to the south today and bring light showers to the Bay Area, upper Sacramento valley and the northern Sierras today. Snow showers are forecast for the Lake Tahoe region this morning.
Southern California will see some cloudiness from this low as it continues to slide south however no rain is forecast.
The clouds will clear this evening and tomorrow with the arrival of high pressure from the Pacific. The high pressure will bring a warming trend for a couple of days then later in the week it will cool off again when the next cold front is forecast to arrive
Looking now over to the southwest where the system that moved into the southwest from California yesterday will be exiting the region today with high pressure taking its place.
The low that brought cloudiness to southern California continued south along the northern Baja coast. Tomorrow that low will start to move northeast back into Arizona. This low is moisture starved so no rain is forecast, just some cloudiness and cooler temperatures as it passed quickly through the southwest tomorrow.
Wednesday high pressure from west will rebuild over Arizona and continue into the weekend with clear skies and a warming trend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. It looks like California and the southwest will be seeing pleasant weather until later in the week.
Back on this side of the Fence the Sea will be having a pleasant day wind-wise. Tomorrow all locations will see a just bit more wind and then Wednesday with the arrival of high pressure to our north brisk to strong winds for the entire Sea.
As the gradient equalizes between here and the Great Basin right now it looks like Thursday into the weekend should see moderate winds again. That’s a bit far out for me to forecast but that’s the big picture right now.
Temperatures yesterday afternoon inched up a few degrees and it looks like they could inch up a few more degrees today. So for the central Sea mid 70s, the southern Sea mid to high 70s and the Riviera mid 80s today and overcast.
All in all a very pleasant winter day in Baja.
