Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the cold front moving though SE California into SW Arizona is bringing some cloudiness with it that is extending into the far northern Sea. This system is on the fast track so the clouds will pass to east quickly this morning in the northern Sea.
The rest of the Sea looks clear this morning. I can though see that some whispys have been passing over the cape during the night and this morning.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera I can see the moisture plume is reminiscent of a Pineapple Express but without the jet this morning. The plume is spread out from around Puerto Vallarta to Zihuatanejo this morning. I can see plenty of wet cells in the plume this morning so dark bottomed clouds and the changes of showers are possible for this entire area.
Looking now at the ITCZ/monsoon trough I can see that all these clouds are coming from an area between 110 and 125W. The rest of the zone, as it has been for the past week, is relatively quiet this morning.
Looking back over to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where a fast moving cold front moving through the western Gulf of Mexico is funneling strong winds through the Chivella pass and they are forecast to increase to minimal Gale force by tonight into tomorrow morning. The Gale warning extends into Monday however the winds are forecast to diminish below Gale force by Monday afternoon.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where looking out into the Pacific there are enough storms on the way to keep the Great Northwest wet all next week.
The cold front moving through later today will just brush Northern California tomorrow bringing a chance of rain to the Bay Area and the Sacramento Valley. Snow is forecast for the Lake Tahoe area tomorrow.
Looking now to southern California where a couple of low pressure systems will be moving through southern California today and tomorrow. The southland could see some light rain today; the second system will probably be dry. It will remain cool and gusterly as these fronts pass through.
Then starting Tuesday building high pressure off the west coast will start to migrate toward the coast and expand over California bringing clear skies and warming temperatures into late into the week.
Looking now over to the southwest where a fast moving front is moving out of California into SW Arizona this morning bringing cloudiness and breezy conditions later today. Yuma Radar is not showing any rain and the forecast is for perhaps just a trace as this system passed though.
The second system will move through tomorrow and it is also expected to be dry.
This second system will be an inside slider, meaning it will moving south through Nevada and not down the coast before entering SE California and SW Arizona. The system is forecast to continue moving south and end up parking off the northern Baja coast before dissipating. No rain is forecast for the northern Baja regions from this system just some cloudiness.
In summary, the Storm track is well to the north of California and high pressure will build over California and Arizona starting Tuesday bringing mostly clear skies and warmer temperatures well into next week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence we can expect to see moderate winds for the entire Sea today and picking up just a bit tomorrow but not much.
I noted that most of the sunrise temperatures were up a degree or two this morning however it does not look like today’s highs will be much higher than yesterday. So temperatures today for the northern and central Sea mid to high 60s. The southern Sea low 70s and the Riviera low to mid 80s today.
Of note the Gonzaga bay Weather Underground stations had a notice posted this morning that the web cam and the station were shutting down as of yesterday. I hope this is not permanent as it filled the gap between the real-time stations in San Filepe and La Bay.
