Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see where that cold front passed over the Northern peninsula yesterday and last night. This morning it is just north of Hermosillo. The outer fringes of the counterclockwise swirl are bringing a few clouds back over the northern and north central Sea this morning. Most of the moisture laden clouds are now moving up into SE Arizona and SW New Mexico. The front will continue to move east into Chihuahua later in the day.
As the system moves further to the northeast the cloudiness will move with the system.
Preceding that front that moved though the northern Sea yesterday it was gusterly with gusts to 35 knots being recorded.
Other than that the Sea looks to be pretty much free of any cloudiness this morning.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera and looking at the 300mb Jet Stream Analysis it is showing a southern jet driving right through the center of that moisture plume that has been off the Riviera coast for about a week.
For the first time this year we actually have a Pineapple Express. The clouds riding on the express move up from the ITCZ/monsoon trough, pass over pretty much the whole of the Riviera, cross the mainland and enter the Gulf of Mexico, then travel along the Gulf states and along the eastern seaboard as far as Virginia before moving out into the Atlantic.
Looking back at the Riviera it looks like that plume will continue to bring cloudiness from a bit to the south of Mazatlan to Acapulco again today.
Looking further south it looks like the 5-day honeymoon will be over on Sunday for the winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. A cold front moving across the Gulf of Mexico will bring strong winds back to the Gulf on Sunday in the 30K ranges. Today and Saturday the winds will remain in the very moderate ranges though.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where at the very top of this image I can see yet another honker approaching the Great Northwest. Tomorrow when it arrives it will bring more Rain and snow down to 1000 feet. They can expect rain and snow well into next week. This Storm will also bring heavy surf to the northwest coast. Sea will be around 25 feet or so.
This system will just brush Northern California and the very upper Sacramento Valley. Other than that northern California will have building high pressure, warmer days and clear skies into the weekend.
Southern California has a rather weak low moving down the coast. Bypassing the LA basin it will make landfall around San Diego tomorrow. Light rain or drizzle is possible early Sunday morning followed by mild and dry weather well into next week under high pressure.
Looking now over to the southwest where the low system moving across Sonora today will bring valley rain and mountain snow showers this morning ending as the day progresses. Dry and warmer to start the weekend then another system will bring gusterly winds and a few mainly mountain showers Sunday into early next week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Today the winds in the Sea will be brisk to strong in the 20+ knot ranges from the NW.
Tomorrow the winds will back off a bit and be in the moderate ranges and then Sunday will be pretty much like today. Gusterly!
As that cold front moved through the northern Sea yesterday and last nigh it brought cooler sunrise temperatures. Several locations reported a drop of 10 degrees from the previous morning.
Today’s highs for the central Sea will be in the mid to high 60s with a few in the southland reaching the low 70s today. The wind chill will make the day seem uncomfortably cold.
The Riviera’s temperatures will continue to be in the low 80s today along with overcast skies and the threat of showers.
