Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning first with the 24 hour loop I can see that the skies have been pretty much clear over Baja for the past 24 hours.
Looking south to that area of disturbed weather about 800 miles west of Zihuatanejo where it is continuing to send bands of moisture laden clouds toward the mainland. These bands are now not quite as heavy with moisture and are scattered this morning. The forecast is again for this area to break up within the next 24 hours.
That being said looking further south to the ITCZ/monsoon trough: It is quite active this morning with numerous areas of heavy convection that is starting to spill into the Eastern Pacific Basin.
Going with the forecast though it looks like the likelihood of any more rain along the Riviera today is rather slim.
Checking out the Gulf of Tehuantepec this morning I can see that the Gales in the Gulf of Tehuantepec appear to have ended. By this afternoon the winds are forecast to diminish to less than 20 knots.
Looking now out into the Eastern Pacific Basin, it is mostly overcast with high cirrus all the way out to Hawaii this morning.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image I can see the first of several storms to impact the west coast is arriving in Oregon and Northern California this morning bringing rain to northern California and snow to the Sierras.
This system will sag south during the day and bring another round of wintery weather to southern California starting later this evening into tomorrow. Rain and a chance of thunderbumpers are in the forecast. A second system will bring a chance of more showers Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Thursday and Friday are will be dry awaiting the next system that is forecast to arrive next Sunday.
Snow levels are forecast to drop to 4000-4500 feet by this evening in southern California.
Looking now over to the southwest where southwest Arizona has partial overcast this morning and it looks like 100% overcast by later today as clouds are moving quickly into the state from the north.
There will be a train of weather systems passing though Arizona this week. The first one continues to move east this morning into New Mexico. It will be followed by one on Tuesday and yet another on Thursday and possibly another on Sunday or Monday of next week.
These subsequent systems will bring a chance of valley rain and mountain snow to parts of southwest Arizona. Gusterly winds and cooler temperatures will accompany each passing system.
Well, that’s what is going on to the north of us. On this side of the fence it looks like the next three days the northern and central Sea will be have very moderate winds. The southern Sea light winds are in the forecast.
All day today a front will be moving south along the California coast. It is forecast to arrive in southern California tonight and then tomorrow morning sag south into Northern Baja. It should bring some rain to northern Baja and perhaps the northern Sea as it passes to the east during the day tomorrow.
The central see will most likely see some cloudiness as this system moves through but not much chance of any rain. You are probably thinking, he said that a week ago and we had that downpour. Well I have two models in agreement and that’s enough for me to stick my neck out this morning.
As far as the winds: These storms moving through the southwest to the north of us will keep the gradient weak and not support much in the way of winds this week. The next three days it looks like good sailing weather for anyplace in the Sea. Both crossings look inviting.
The Riviera will continue to see some patches of cloudiness south of Manzanillo to around Acapulco today.
Sunrise temperatures were in general down from 5-10 degrees from yesterday morning. This afternoon the temperatures will be in the mid 70s while in the southern end of the state they could break 80 today.
