Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see we have had another day in the Sea of Cortez without any cloudiness.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera a different picture. I can see an area south of the cape and west of Zihuatanejo that is producing a lot of convection. These moisture laden clouds are moving toward the Riviera from about Mazatlan to Acapulco this morning picking up moisture as the move toward shore.
Several of the reporting stations along the Riviera reported showers yesterday. The heaviest however was at Manzanillo where they showed 1.42 inches of rain since midnight this morning.
Looking south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where the winds this morning are just below advisory levels however will increase to Gale force by this afternoon as a cold front currently moving through the western Gulf of Mexico pushes into the Gulf of Campeche. Gale force winds will then continue through Sunday afternoon peaking around 40 knots.
Not a lot going on out in the Pacific, so that’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where starting at the top of this image I can see where a low system is pushing a cold front over the Pacific Northwest this morning bringing wet to the low lands and snow to the Cascades. The storms are stacked up out in the Pacific and will arrive one after another for the next week with about the same pattern as today.
Northern California will see the tail end of this frontal boundary and it is bringing light rain to as far south as San Francisco and the upper Sacramento Valley this morning. The Sierras will also get a light dusting of snow by this evening.
Looking now at southern California where a series of weak weather systems will move through southern California this weekend and early next week bringing cool and unsettled weather as well as some strong westerly winds to the mountains and deserts. Some light rain and mountain snow are possible. Dry and warmer conditions will return by late next week.
Looking now over to the southwest where it will be warm and dry today. A series of relatively modest low systems will bring a few valley rain and mountain snow showers starting tomorrow morning and again Tuesday into Wednesday along with gusterly winds at times and much cooler temperatures.
Tuesday’s system will bring the best chance of showers to the southwest.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the central Sea will see the strongest southerlies today. Both the northern and southern Seas will be in the moderate ranges.
Abundant sunshine is on tap for the entire Sea. The Riviera will continue to see bands of what look like dark bottomed clouds pass over. Showers along the Riviera are probable this morning. The plume appears to be weakening so most likely just overcast this afternoon. There is currently a heavy squall directly over Acapulco this morning.
Temperatures will climb a bit today and the Sea should see afternoon temperatures in the high 70s to the mid 80s. The Riviera should see temperatures in the mid 80s as well today.
