Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that most of the Sea has been pretty much free of any cloudiness for the past 24 hours.
The cape area has had some mostly passing whispys during the night but it looks clear this morning.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera it looks like from time to time they have had a mix of fluffys and whispys passing over since yesterday afternoon. This morning there is a wide wet band of clouds moving toward the area, spread out, off shore, from around Puerto Vallarta south to Manzanillo. There is a lot of convection out there and the plume is around 7-800 miles long so it look like that area of the Riviera will see some cloudiness well into the afternoon today starting a bit later this morning.
Looking further south to the Gulf of Tehuantepec where Gale force winds have increased overnight with winds around 40 knots expected today. The Tehuantepecker will continue through tomorrow and by tomorrow night the winds should dip below the advisory levels but still be in the 25-30 Knot ranges.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific Basin where I can see mostly thin whispys between Baja and Hawaii this morning.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where off the California/Oregon and Washington coast a giant low is swirling out there. Most of the coast has some cloudiness in advance of this Storm.
It is forecast to arrive tomorrow all along the west coast with the heaviest concentration of rain in northern California and mostly light showers in southern California. Snow levels in the southland will be around 6000 feet with the Grape Vine most likely getting a dusting of snow.
Tomorrow most of California will see some rain and by Wednesday it should exit California to the east with most of the moisture now expended.
The system will be moving south along the west coast all day tomorrow and by late Wednesday the low should be over northern Baja. By Thursday the low is forecast to move a bit further south perhaps into central Baja. Rain is most likely to begin in northern Baja late tomorrow into Wednesday with showers continuing into Thursday in the northern sea perhaps as far south as the central Sea. We’ll see?
Looking now over to the southwest where this system is forecast to be mostly to the south as it moves east. Arizona is not expected to see much rain from this system, perhaps some isolated showers Wednesday through Thursday with the best chance over the far western deserts on Wednesday and along the international border Wednesday night and Thursday.
By late tomorrow night the system should exit northern California, exiting southern California on Wednesday and southeast Arizona and Baja on Thursday.
High pressure building first along the west coast will follow the system into the weekend.
So it looks like some weather to the north of us this week and it looks like we will see some of that on this side of the Fence as well. Just how far south a good guess would be perhaps Santa Rosalia. We’ll see?
As far as the winds in the Sea today and tomorrow they will be moderate. Wednesday it looks like light winds.
As far as temperatures today they should be in the mid 70s. One forecaster in La Paz was reporting a drop of 10 degrees in our daytime highs later in the week. It would certainly not be unusual to see daytime highs in Central Sea the mid 60s and the overnight lows in the high 40s in February. You may think about putting a liner in your SpeedO.
