Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that in the past 24 hours a few scattered bands of whispys have passed over the Baja peninsula into the Sea and this will most likely continue today.
Off the west coast of the peninsula there are mostly debris clouds emanating from an area of disturbed weather WSW of the cape. They extend the length of Baja and I can see a few stragglers moving up into the southern California deserts and SW Arizona this morning.
Looking south of the cape I can see that from around Mazatlan to Acapulco they have seen a mix of whispys and fluffys over the past 24 hours and what looks like rain producing clouds passing though the Manzanillo area early this morning. No rain was reported by reporting stations along the Riviera for the past 24 hours though.
These passing clouds will continue today but I’m not seeing the rain producing cells off shore this morning.
Looking now at the Gulf of Tehuantepec where there is still a moderate gradient between the western Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific that is producing brisk winds through the Chivela pass into the Gulf. No advisories are in the forecast but winds in the 20-25 knot ranges will be present during the 3-day forecast period.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific Basin this morning I can see there is not a lot of activity along the ITCZ/monsoon trough. Most of the convection is in that area that is SW of the cape this morning. Looking out past therm it looks like mostly high whispys all the way out to Hawaii this morning.
That about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America of America where the weather-maker for the west coast is a front that is moving into the Seattle area this morning. Proceeding the front rain and mountain snow extend south to northern California. The bay area and the Sacramento area will be seeing light rain this morning.
The front is a fast mover and by this evening it will be moving into the Great Basin. High pressure will fill in in the wake of the front and the state and it looks like the entire west coast will dry out into the weekend.
Southern California in the LA Basin will see some cloudiness as this system passes through to the north this morning then clearing this afternoon.
Tomorrow as the high pressure ridge amplifies along the coast surface high pressure will be building in the Great Basin giving cause to clear skies and a warming trend for the west.
That’s the good news. The other news is when you have high pressure over the Nevada plateau and somewhat lower pressure over southern California it becomes gusterly in the southland. So gusterly conditions are in the forecast for the southland later in the week.
Looking now over to the southwest that system moving through to the north will bring cooler temperatures today along with gusterly winds to the area into Friday. High pressure and warmer temperatures are forecast to return this weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the Sea will see moderate winds for today and tomorrow and then Friday most of the Sea will see winds in the 20 knot ranges in the afternoon.
Temperatures today will be in the mid 70s for the northern and central Sea and the southern Sea will see some 80s today.
