Voice to Text……….
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can not see any clouds at all with this image. The water vapor image is not showing any clouds either.
Looking south to the Riviera they are also cloud free.
Looking now at the Tehuantepec where the Tehuantepeckers just keep rolling in. This morning they are showing 30-40 winds in the isthmus and are forecast to diminish below gale force later this morning. This could be short lived as another blast of cold air from the Gulf of Mexico is forecast to funnel through the Chivela pass into the Gulf starting Sunday. They could have another gale force event then. We’ll see?
Looking further south to the ITCZ where there is not a lot of convection until you get out into the western Pacific around Hawaii. There is a tropical jet that is passing right over the island of Oahu that is loaded with tropical moisture and the plume extends across the Pacific and is dumping rain into Oregon and Washington this morning.
The National Weather Service has issued flood advisories for the island this morning. This image is showing very heavy thunderbumpers over all the islands there this morning. This is the northern tropical jet that the folks in the Great Northwest refer to as the Pineapple Express.
The southern Pineapple Express or southern jet stream has not shown up yet in our hood. It’s normally here by Christmas.
Well, that’s it for our hood so looking north now to the west coast of America where system after system continues to pound the Great Northwest. I can see another 996 low working its way out of the Gulf of Alaska and down the British Columbia coast this morning.
The entire top of this image is showing either rain or snow as far south as northern California. The Cascades and the Sierras will be seeing more rain than snow with these warm systems moving through. Lake Tahoe is forecast to have rain through the weekend.
Southern California will see heavy fog lasting most of the day along the coast but the inland empire will be warm. San Diego could see 90 degrees on Sunday.
Back down here across the border it looks like it will be a very pleasant day with very moderate winds in the Sea. Tomorrow and Sunday the winds will pick up a bit each day but today’s winds will be pleasant.

The last lunar eclipse of 2010 is on Dec 21 and is especially well placed for observers in the Sea of Cortez. More on this later.

Don't chisel these forecasts in stone. This is an Amateur Endeavor. They, however, are normally very close.
