After the Sonrisa Weather it’s back to work.

This summary and the daily postings are now posted on the Sonrisanet webpage usually by 8:30 MDT daily.

The following is from my daily ham radio Report

Voice to Text……….
.looking down into the Sea this morning the only clouds I can see are a few whispys passing over the cape. Web cams up and down the sea are showing clear skies as well.
Yesterday morning I mentioned a weak subtropical jet had appeared out about 140, moving up from the western Pacific, and was picking up moisture where it crossed the ITCZ. This image is showing not a lot of moisture out there to pick up so the plume is mostly whispys this morning and I can see that a few have been passing over the cape area during the night.
That’s about if for any clouds in the Sea or along the Riviera this morning.
Looking south to the Tehuantepec it looks like most of the thunderbumpers are well to the south as tropical depression Agatha dissipates. The forecast for the Tehuantepec today is for moderate southern winds and I can see no threat of thunderbumper activity so it looks like it allow for a comfortable crossing.
Now, sister Agatha:
Tropical Storm Agatha, the first Eastern Pacific named storm of 2010, was short lived but deadly. Agatha was a tropical storm for just 12 hours, making landfall Saturday in Guatemala as a 45 mph tropical storm. However, the storm brought huge amounts of moisture inland that continue to be wrung out as heavy rains by the high mountains of Guatemala and the surrounding nations of Central America. So far, flooding and landslides have killed twelve people in Guatemala, and one person in neighboring El Salvador. According to an excellent weather site I found in Guatemala, climaya.com, rainfall amounts of up to six inches in 24 hours have occurred in some regions of Guatemala.
The National Hurricane Center is warning that rainfall amounts of up to 30 inches may fall the next few days in some of the mountainous regions near where the storm has dissipated.
Adding to the mayhem is fallout from the Pacaya volcano in Guatemala, which began erupting three days ago. At least three people have been killed by the volcano, located about 25 miles south of the capital, Guatemala City. The volcano has destroyed 800 homes with lava and brought moderate ash falls to the capital.
Mother Nature is certainly having her way with Guatemala. I saw numerous pictures of streets flooding above the level of car tops.
That’s it for down here so looking north to the west coast of America where as I mentioned high pressure is promising a mostly pleasant Memorial Day for most of the western conus.
The Great Northwest is having a series of weak lows moving through the area. Today one of the impulses will bring rain as far south as the Bay Sacramento Valley, the foothills and the Sierras. Most of Oregon and Washington will see rain all week.
Southern California will see the dry end of these weak lows that will cool things off a bit until Wednesday.
Same thing for the southwest. High pressure will be centered over the Great Basin resulting in very warm temps and dry weather today. Temps will dip a bit as the southern end of that low in California brushes Arizona tomorrow, then starting Wednesday things will heat up in the southwest with temps in many desert locations approaching 110 degrees.
Back down here across the border we won’t be seeing temps in the triple digit ranges for a while yet.
Today will be another delightful spring Baja day. Even the outside passage will be a comfortable ride today.
Most sunrise temps were up a few degrees and today’s highs will be inching toward the 90 degree Plus marks.

73s Y'all

Don't chisel these forecasts in stone. This is an Amateur Endeavor. They, however, are normally very close.
