NEW FEATURE: At the end of the Winds and Temperature forecast there is now a link to a smile.
OK looking now down into the sea this morning I can see a few isolated fluffys but otherwise the sea is pretty much cloud free. From about the Northern crossing south on the mainland there is a canopy of clouds.
All along the Mexican Riviera yesterday and last night there has been a lot of thunderbumper activity. Numerous large cells developing then moving off shore during the night. Currently the Riviera has overcast conditions, and some local showers, but the big thunderbumpers are all off shore.
Taking a look at southern Mexico. I can see a huge cell that the eastern edge is over the Yucatan and the western edge is touching the Pacific. I can see another high top cell pretty much right over Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. Looks like they must be getting some rain there. Looking further south it looks like thunderbumper city from Ixtapa Zihuatanejo to Central America.
Lots of thunderbumpers and a tropical wave down around 89W that can’t seem to get any forward motion. It’s just dropping a lot of rain on Honduras and Nicaragua. The only other item of tropical interest is that low I mentioned earlier that is about 400 miles southwest of the cape. There is some convection associated with the low however it’s moving into very stable air so if any development were to happen it would be slow to occur.
So it looks like nothing tropical developing in the basin this morning.
Zooming out a bit and looking at Southern Baja and the Riviera. All this convection along the Riviera is moving in a northward flow. It is passing over the cape area, producing a shower or two, and then curling back over to the east crossing the sea about the southern crossing with a mix of fluffys that the moisture is mostly gone. The clockwise spiral could extend north to La Paz later this morning. My guess would be that it would.
OK, taking a look now at the west coast of the peninsula. Just a light marine layer from Turtle Bay north to the border this morning.
Looking further north to the west coast of America this morning. The west coast of California has a marine layer along most of the coast. La La land has been issued a heavy fog advisory. . From the Oregon border to Seattle it is raining as that cold front moves ashore off the Washington coast. This front should move to the east by Friday. The rest of the western conus has pretty much clear skies this morning. It should remain dry for the next several days. Perhaps some moisture returning to Arizona this weekend. It’s still warm up there. Tucson will hit 101 today and Yuma 107.
We should also see some temperatures go up a bit today. And we should see some thunderbumpers in all the usual places this afternoon. We’re not seeing a lot of rain from these cells along the coast, but taking with some of the local ranchers they are saying that their reservoirs are filling up nicely this summer. So it’s raining back in the sierras. This is a good thing. Gotta keep those cows and goats contented.
73s y’all

Don't chisel these forecasts in stone. This is an Amateur Endeavour. They, however, are normally very close.
