Tropical Storm Julio in our hood

.Looking down into the sea this morning. I can see a big honking cell that extends from the mainland coast to perhaps one hundred miles off the western shore of Baja. North south: From the Southern crossing to the Northern Crossing. Perhaps 2500 square mile coverage. Huge, would pretty much describe this cell. It is packing a lot of moisture and here at my palapa on the northern edge this morning, I have been having squall after squall all night. This morning whenever one would pass over and I would get these drenching down-pours, my satellite would drop out. Very frustrating. Sometimes it would be down for a half hour or more.
Ok Julio is now on a move north over land. Centered in center of the Baja peninsula and probably between Loreto and Concepcion bay.

I’m now doing this from memory because the satellite has not come back up yet.
I looks like Julio will Pluto to a depression sometime today. It looks like we will continue to have some rain from Loreto to Guaymas this morning heavy in places. Here at my palapa I have had a little more than two and a half inches of rain over night. Looking at the rainfall totals up and down the peninsula, Wunderground Stations, it appears that the heaviest rain happened to the north of La Paz last night and this morning as the storm moved north. I’m thinking that La Bay should start to see rain later this morning or early afternoon.
Julio did not follow the original forecast and so the good folks at the NHC have revised it and right now it is forecast to be around the middrifts on Wednesday. So it looks like the peninsula will be seeing a good bit of rain today and tomorrow.
I did not have time to take look up to American this morning. Actually the satellite was down. Back down here we should be seeing rain most of the day. Not a lot of wind forecast today but it will be a bit gusterly when the thumpers are right on top of you. Temperatures will probably be in the mid to high 80s today.

Don't chisel these wind forecasts in stone. This is an amateur Endeavour. They, however, are normally very close.
