.Looking down into the sea this morning I can see the Pineapple Express is well off to the west. About a 1000 miles west of the Baja coast so it looks like today the peninsula and the Mexican Riviera will be having a great solar day. I can see just a few fluffys here and there around the sea this morning so sunshine will be the order of the day.
Looking way south to the Tehuantepec isthmus where the qscatt showed calm winds at 3am and the forecast is for winds for the next few days to be less than 10. The grib/coamps files are showing 20 knot winds there this morning. So be advised that this is a possibility.
Switching satellites now to the GOES fog seeing images for the west coast of Baja I can see a fairly heavy marine layer from about Mag Bay north along the coast all the way north to about Point Conception on the California coast.
Looking now up to the West Coast of America starting at the top of this image. High pressure will bring sunny skies to Oregon and Washington today however a frontal system is forecast to bring rain to the area this weekend.
For California that upper low I mentioned earlier off the southern California coast will continue to march east today into Arizona with highs filling in behind it allowing for warming across the area with sunny skies through tomorrow.
For the southwest that low moving out of California will bring clouds and a chance of thunderbumpers and showers mostly east of Tucson this afternoon and evening. As it exits to the east Saturday high pressure will fill in with a warming trend and sunny skies.
For those of us blessed to be here in the Sea of Cortez we should be seeing abundant sunshine today, albeit the temperatures won’t be any higher than yesterday. Most of the sunrise temperatures were down a degree or two and I would doubt that any location will hit 80 today on the peninsula.
