Voice to Text

Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that yesterday morning and early afternoon there was a lot of activity in the southern Sea with several storms moving off the mainland and crossing the Sea. I would have expected to see some rain accumulations from La Paz south this morning but no one reported any rain for the past 24 hours.
By mid afternoon most of the storms were gone leaving a lot of residual cloudiness in the region. There was nothing going on in the Sea last night however both Sonora and Sinaloa were quite active and this morning there are several areas of cloudiness resulting from the storms there in the southern Sea that will probably dissipate later in the morning.
Looking south to along the west coast of Mexico the coast is pretty much clear to around Zihuatanejo. From there south to Central America it is “Thunderbumper city” along the coast.
In our Tropical Kitchen this morning there is a “Wanna-be” a couple hundred miles SW of Acapulco this morning. This was just designated as 99 Echo and the National Hurricane Center is giving this a 70% chance of developing into a STORM toward the end of the week.
Early forecast models are showing this STORM moving WNW and not moving any further north than around 20N. We’ll see?
Currently this is just an area of disturbed weather however the models are showing a low will develop in a couple of days and this area will become more organized.
Tropical Waves: Two are in transit in the Atlantic with one just moving off the African coast. One in just entering the western Caribbean and the other is snuggling up to the “Wanna-Be” SW of Acapulco this morning.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where with the exception of some thunderbumpers in the Cascades the Pacific North West will see sunshine throughout the week.
In northern California sunshine along the coast and thunderbumpers in the Sierras and foothills for the first part of the week. Some of these storms could be quite strong.
In southern California monsoonal moisture will bring a slight chance of afternoon and early evening thunderbumpers to the mountains and deserts through tomorrow. Otherwise just seasonal weather with temperatures in the mid 70s and good to excellent surfing conditions along the coast.
Looking now over to the SW where they can expect scattered mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderbumpers all week. A strong increase of storms is expected tomorrow and tomorrow night as moisture deepens and a passing disturbance helps to organize storms. Some storms will generate heavy rain and strong winds.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence out winds will be in the light to moderate ranges for the 3-day forecast period. Depending on where you are in the Sea you will see either NE or SE winds for the next 3 days.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: the low teens from the NE today, low teens from the SE for the next two days.
The Guaymas side of the central Sea: light westerly winds today and tomorrow and light southerly winds on Wednesday.
The Baja side of the central Sea: the mid teens from the NE for the 3-day forecast period.
Puerto Escondido: light SE today then the mid teens from the SE for the next two days.
The southern Sea, the San Lorenzo Channel, La Paz and the nearby islands. Mostly light SW today and tomorrow and then light SE on Wednesday.
The East Cape: the light winds continue along the East Cape: today NE and then SE for the next two days.
The Mexican Riviera: Mazatlan to Cabo Corrienties should see the low teens from the NW today, then the SW for the next two days.
South of the cape: mostly light to moderate SW breezes for the 3-day forecast period.
