Voice to Text

Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see a thin band of mostly whispys moving off of Himicane Raymond and passing over the cape region this morning.
The rest of the Sea is and has been free of any clouds for the past 24 hours.
Looking south to the west coast of Mexico and the Mexican Riviera I can see a little thunderbumper activity around Zihuatanejo again this morning but that’s about it for any clouds along the Riviera this morning.
Further south 20-30 knot winds will persist today in the Gulf of Tehuantepec diminishing to the 20-24 knot ranges tomorrow and less on Wednesday.
It looks like the Tropical Kitchen will be open in November. Raymond will be with us in one from or another until the weekend. Over night he has cranked up to a category 2 storm again. Today he hits colder waters and will be a cat 1 storm again. Tuesday and Wednesday a tropical storm for the 3rd time in its life span. Thursday a tropical depression, Friday a Post-Tropical Low and dissipate on Saturday around 400 miles SW of the cape.
That is the official forecast. He has not paid much attention to the forecasts so far, so we continue to play the waiting game.
So it looks like we will be bringing the fat lady out later this week to finally sing the swan song for Raymond. It’s time we close the Tropical Kitchen for the season.
That being said the blogger in La Paz is still forecasting rain tomorrow and Wednesday for the cape area and heavy in the Comondu area. Could happen, we’ll see?
Well, that’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where a big honk’n low has dropped out of British Columbia and is bringing cold and wet to the west coast today and tomorrow.
Portland is forecasting a hard freeze.
In northern California some rain in the low lands, and snow in the Sierras. Lake Tahoe is forecasting only a couple of inches of new snow.
This is not a particularly wet storm. Cold is its main feature. Temperatures will drop 10-20 degrees from Saturday in most locations in California.
Southern California is forecast to have light rain through tomorrow along with very gusterly conditions inland and small craft advisories at the coast.
Clearing will begin late Tuesday as the low exits to the east into the Great Basin. Temperatures will return to near normal by the end of the week.
Looking now over to the southwest where that cold low will dig into the Great Basin for the first half of the week. The Tucson area can expect gusterly winds today and tomorrow with much colder temperatures expanding to the entire southwest by Wednesday. There is a slight chance of showers in the higher elevation tomorrow through Wednesday. Three dog nights are forecast following this system later in the week.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on his side of the Fence it looks like the next two days the Sonoran side of the Sea will be seeing southerlies and the Baja side NE.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: less than 10 from the SW today and tomorrow then around 19 on Wednesday from the NE.
The Guaymas side of the central Sea: very light SE or SW today and tomorrow and then mid teens from the NW of Wednesday.
The Baja side of the central Sea: NE for the 3-day forecast period. Light today and moderate for the next two days.
Puerto Escondido: SE for the 3-day forecast period. Light today, high teens tomorrow and mid teens on Wednesday.
The southern Sea, the San Lorenzo Channel, and the nearby islands. Light winds for the next 3 days. Today southerly, tomorrow NW and Wednesday probably from the east.
La Paz: light today from the SE. around 20 tomorrow NW and low teens on Wednesday from the NE.
The East Cape: all from the north. Light today then moderate tomorrow and Wednesday.
Mexican Riviera: light winds for the 3-day forecast period Mazatlan SW for the 3-day forecast period. Puerto Vallarta: NW today, WSW Tuesday and Wednesday. Cabo Corrienties and south mostly light SW for the next 3 days.
