Voice to Text

Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has been cloudless for the past 24 hours. The water vapor imagery is showing the Sea of Cortez region to be very dry.
Looking south to the west coast of Mexico and the Mexican Riviera I can see a small cell working just off shore from Mazatlan, and another just south of Cabo Corrienties. Then from Manzanillo south to Guatemala it is one solid thunderbumper extending perhaps 100 miles out to Sea to the west and blanketing the Tehuantepec isthmus to the east.
Looking at the ITCZ/Monsoon trough this morning I can see there is very little activity in the zone this morning.
Looking in our Tropical Kitchen this morning I can see the low that was forecast to pop up off the coast of southwestern Mexico did last night and it looks like I will elevate it from a “wanna-be” to a “gonna-be”. They say the development will be slow and not expected to become a tropical storm until late in the week and over the weekend. In the mean time it will be producing more, possibly heavy, rain along the west coast that is already soaked. Concern is again for flash flooding and mud slides.
There are a couple of Tropical Waves moving across the Atlantic today. It’s possible they won’t make it to the Pacific, with the Atlantic being in high season for hurricanes. Currently this lonely low is the only item of tropical interest in both the Pacific and the Atlantic.
That’s what is gong on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image I can see there will be a couple of lows moving through the Great Northwest this week. Seattle is expected to see scattered morning showers give way to partly sunny skies this afternoon then a wet pattern will prevail through early next week.
In northern California Team USA tied it up for the America’s cup Race yesterday. Both teams now having eight points with nine to win. It should be a perfect day for racing in San Francisco bay with sunny skies and NW winds at 15-25.
A trough currently off the coast of British Columbia is forecast to dig south across northern and central California later today and this evening. This will bring a warmer air mass into northern California along with lower humidity readings. Fire watches had been posted for elevations over 1000 feet in the bay area.
The trough will move quickly off to the east tomorrow with high pressure rebuilding over northern California by Friday.
In southern California that trough will bring much cooler weather and strong westerly winds to the mountains and deserts tomorrow along with patchy drizzle west of the mountains. High pressure should return by the weekend bringing warmer and drier weather.
Looking over to the southwest and Hoot Owl Hollow. The Weather Owl at 5000 feet is saying it will be windy today and especially gusterly tomorrow. They also have enough moisture to trigger isolated showers mainly over the eastern mountains tomorrow night and Friday. High pressure will build over the west this weekend bring a warming trend into the first week of October.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on his side of the Fence we should have pleasant moderate winds in most locations today. In the far northern Sea a bit gusterly today, tomorrow a bit more. The rest of the Sea mostly in the moderate ranges.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: moderate SW today. Strong to 20 from the SW tomorrow and moderate NW of Friday.
The Guaymas side of the central Sea: light NW Today, light SW tomorrow and moderate NW on Friday.
The Baja side of the central Sea: moderate NE today and Friday, tomorrow light NW.
The southern Sea, the San Lorenzo Channel, and the nearby islands. Moderate SW today and tomorrow and then light NW or NE on Friday. La Paz right now looks like strong to 25 SW winds for tomorrow.
The East Cape: light to moderate NW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
The Mexican Riviera: Mazatlan light NW for the next 3 days. Puerto Vallarta mostly light SW, south of Cabo Corrienties mostly light southerlies.
