Voice to Text

Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea is again pretty much clear north of the La Paz latitudes. To the south of this line we have our old friend Manuel.
It looks like Manuel was a bit dry after dumping a lot of rain along the west coast. It emerged thirsty yesterday morning and soon became invest 91. A big honk’n cell moved out from Puerto Vallarta to give it a little drink yesterday morning (a little tropical filling station). That done that cell moved northeast and dissipated late in the afternoon. The invigorated invest was elevated up to Tropical Depression status again and could reach tropical storm status later today.
Right now Manuel is parked around 50 miles SE of the cape bringing what looks like just light rain to the cape and abundant rain to the area from Los Mochas to Puerto Vallarta this morning. The current track, and don’t chisel this in stone as they have been changing on a hourly basis, is for Manual to move slowly NNW today and cross over La Paz tomorrow afternoon as a Tropical Depression and exit on the Pacific side and perhaps finally perhaps disappear in the cooler waters there.
At this time there is nothing else cooking in our Tropical Kitchen.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is not quite as active as it has been for the past several days.
The skies are pretty much clear from Cabo Corrienties south to the Tehuantepec this morning where there is a big honk’n thunderbumper right over the bay this morning.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where a cold front has moved into the Great Northwest and will be bringing rain to the region into the weekend.
In northern California the rain will start on Friday and temperatures will dip considerably over the weekend.
In southern California no rain is expected but cooler temperatures will prevail into the weekend.
Looking over to the southwest where dry conditions will prevail through this weekend except for a few mainly mountain showers and thunderbumpers during the afternoon and evening hours. Daytime temperatures will generally be a few degrees above normal into the weekend.
That is what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the winds in the Sea, with the exemption of the cape region will have similar conditions today and Friday and a slight change in direction tomorrow.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: light southerlies today and Friday. Light NE tomorrow.
The Guaymas side of the central Sea: light to moderate SE today and Friday and light to moderate westerly’s tomorrow.
The Baja side of the central Sea: upper teens today and Friday from the SE and tomorrow low teens from the NE.
The southern Sea, the San Lorenzo Channel, and the nearby islands. Manuel will be crossing the peninsula to the south so it will be mostly cloudy with moderate southerlies today and tomorrow and brisk NW on Friday to around 18 knots.
La Paz: it looks like around 25 knots for the 3-day forecast period probably from the NE.
The East Cape: the models are showing the strongest winds today an in the 30-35 knot ranges and light winds tomorrow and Friday. I’d expect the winds to be a bit stronger tomorrow as Manuel is expected to pass over La Paz tomorrow afternoon.
For the Mexican Riviera: Mazatlan around 30+ today and north to around Topalabombo and los Mochas about the same today.

73s Y’all
