Voice to Text

Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has had another day of almost clear skies. The southern crossing this morning has numerous debris clouds that have been moving up from thunderbumper activity along the Riviera coast during the night.
There have been a considerable number of thumpers working along the coast during the night and early morning hours. This image is showing solid storms from around Puerto Vallarta SE toward Guadalajara all night. There is a large active thumper between Zihuatanejo and Acapulco this morning.
The Tehuantepec is and has been clear all night. Light winds are again forecast for the Gulf and the isthmus.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific basin and the ITCZ/Monsoon trough I can see that it remains very active out to around 150 this morning.
There is nothing cooking in our Tropical Kitchen this morning. That broad Tropical Wave that was moving across the Caribbean stalled over Honduras and has now been designated as invest 93 and is poised to move into Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and then start to move over the Yucatan Peninsula today bringing with it serious amounts of rain.
The National Hurricane Center is only giving this a 30% chance of becoming a hurricane in the next 48 hours, regardless serious rain is on the way for the western Caribbean for the next couple of days.
Over in our hood, the Eastern Pacific basin has been rather dry for the past week. The region will start to moisten up over the next 48 hours due to convection being advected into the basin from that Tropical Wave in the Caribbean.
There is also another Tropical Wave well out in the Atlantic spread out along 52/54W just to the north of the monsoon trough.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where the weather maker is a low parked off the Washington coast this morning. It will slowly start to move east today and continue moving slowly SE over the next few days. It will be bringing rain first to Northern Washington, Seattle, and then Oregon and finally around Wednesday extreme northern California to as far south as Eureka will see some rain from this system.
In the meantime a mix of sun and cloudiness for the Great Northwest, Oregon and northern California including the northern Sierras. The low will bring in cooler temperatures for the first part of the week. High pressure will fill in in the wake and a warming trend will begin in the later part of the week.
In southern California in general; fair weather for the remainder of the week. Coastal fog extending inland overnight and retreating to the beached during the afternoons. Later in the week when that low moves through to the north it will give cause to strong winds in the mountains and deserts as it passes.
Looking now over to the southwest where hot and dry continue to be the forecast for the first half of the week. Some moisture will filter back into the eastern areas the second half of the week for a chance of mainly mountain thunderbumpers by Friday into the weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we will continue to have light to moderate winds for the next TWO days. Wednesday the winds are forecast to come from the south and for that day the southerlies will be on the brisk side, say pushing 20 knots perhaps. We’ll see?
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The Northern Sea: light NE today then moderate SE on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The central Sea, Baja side: today and tomorrow mostly light ENE or E, then Wednesday 19 knot southerlies.
The central Sea, Sonoran side: moderate WNW today, light westerlies tomorrow and moderate SE on Wednesday.
The southern Sea, the San Lorenzo Channel, La Paz and the nearby islands: light southerlies over the 3-day forecast period.
The East Cape: same thing, light southerlies for the next 3 days.
The Sonoran passage: light to moderate WSW for the 3-day forecast period.
The Mexican Riviera: in general light to moderate WSW over the next 3 days.
