Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea of Cortez has had another 24 hours of cloudless skies. There is a lot of cloudiness out in the basin this morning especially west of around 120. High pressure off the Baja west coast is keeping most of this cloudiness from moving any further west.
Looking south along the Mexican Riviera I can see a weak stringy band of clouds around Cabo Corrienties this morning but it looks like they will dissipate a bit later in the morning.
Further south in the Gulf of Tehuantepec there will be a Tehuantepecker in the Gulf starting tomorrow night into Thursday. Gale force winds and 12 foot Sea are in the forecast for the Gulf for the next couple of days.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where it looks like today will be a pretty calm day along the west coast.
At the top of this image Seattle forecasters have been hinting at the possibility of some sun this weekend for several days now. Well here it is on Sunday and NO SUN! Just some light showers for western Washington today. Turns out it was just a teaser, a little weatherman humor.
For the rest of the west coast mostly sunshine today.
Satellite imagery is showing a weather system out in the Pacific around 145 this morning. It will peter our as it gets closer to the coast with probably no rain. Another system dropping in from the northwest has a somewhat better chance of bringing some rain to northern California around mid week. Most of the models are now showing that most of the moisture from that system will stay to the north of California. So that leaves the best potential for any rain in California to be next weekend when a cutoff low is forecast to move in from the west.
So with that being said, and high pressure building off the west coast, it looks like California is in for a week of very pleasant weather with a warming trend.
Looking now over to the southwest where aside from a few high clouds skies should be mostly sunny this week as high pressure builds over the region. Temperatures will remain near normal before climbing back into the upper 80s by mid week. Next weekend could see a slight cool down as that Pacific low I just mentioned moves through the area.
That’s what is going on to the north to us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the Sea will be seeing light to moderate winds over the 3-day forecast period. Today and tomorrow from the north and Tuesday swing to the south.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: mid teens for the next 3 days with Sunday’s winds coming from the SE.
The central Sea: exactly the same pattern. Moderate northern winds for the next two days and then moderate southerlies on Tuesday.
The southern Sea: the islands along the San Lorenzo channel and the La Paz area light to moderate mostly NE winds for the next 3 days. The East Cape moderate NW today then light NE Monday and Tuesday.
The Sonoran passage from Mazatlan north to Guaymas: mid to high teens from the WNW for the entire passage for the 3-day forecast period.
The Mexican Riviera: Mazatlan should see around 20 tomorrow but otherwise from there to Cabo Corrienties very moderate NW winds for the next 3 days. South of Cabo Corrienties light to moderate SW winds.
Temperatures dropped a bit overnight and the daytime hights will also se a bit lower. Today’s highs in the Sea will be in the mid to high 70s today. The Mexican Riviera the mid 80s.

73s Y’all
