Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that we have had another day of cloudless skies in the Sea of Cortez and the Mexican Riviera. There are no clouds on the horizon so today should be about the same as yesterday.
Not much going on along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough this morning, just a few clouds along the zone with no thunderbumper activity.
In the Gulf of Tehuantepec a lingering ENE swell from last weeks Tehuantepecker continues to support seas to 8 feet from 4N to 10N between 105W and 118W. The seas are forecast to subside to less than 8 feet by this afternoon. No wind events are in the forecast for the 3-day forecast period.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where northern Washington continues to get rain and mountain snow. They could see a break this afternoon then another system is progged to arrive tomorrow through Wednesday. Weak high pressure could bring a drying trend toward the weekend.
To the north of Hawaii this morning, around 32N is a large swirling low that has been forecast to bring some rain to northern California starting tomorrow. I can see a lot of thunderbumper activity out in front of the low and the models are now showing most of this moisture will be gone by the time it reaches northern California. So what looked like a nice storm a couple of days ago will just produce some light rain and perhaps a light dusting of snow at the higher elevations.
High pressure will fill in the wake of the system and a warming trend is forecast for Thursday into the weekend.
The system was originally forecast to slide south and bring a chance of rain to the southern part of the state but now the chances are pretty slim. The front will though give cause to gusterly conditions in the mountains and deserts to around 45 mph. With the passing of the front the southland will see a warming trend into the weekend.
Of Note: In this image I can see a very thick fog bank hugging the coast from around La La Land south to around Abreojos this morning.
Looking now over to the southwest where a slight cooling trend will take place this week. Temperatures will still be above normal though. With the passing of that California system to the north on Tuesday and Wednesday it will be a bit cloudy and bring a slight chance of rain to the White Mountains. Otherwise dry and warm into the weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like another very pleasant day with moderate southerlies and abundant sunshine.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The Northern Sea: light to moderate ESE for the next 3 days.
The central Sea: light to moderate east or SE today then moderate NE for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The southern Sea: La Paz: light WNW over the 3-day forecast period. The East Cape: light NW today then mid teens tomorrow and Wednesday.
The Sonoran passage from Mazatlan to Guaymas: From Mazatlan about half way light to moderate NW for the next 3 days. The last half today and tomorrow moderate SW picking up around 20 on Wednesday around Guaymas.
The Mexican Riviera: Mazatlan to Cabo Corrienties moderate NW winds for the next 3 days. South of Cabo Corrienties light to moderate WSW winds.
Most locations had afternoon temperatures a couple of degrees cooler then the day before. Guaymas went from 80 to 71 yesterday afternoon. Today should be about the same with daytime highs being in the low to mid 80s.
