Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the skies over Baja and the west coast of Mexico remain clear this morning.
There is a long moisture plume moving off the ITCZ/Monsoon trough moving due north and then drifting east and blanketing the west coast from Seattle to San Diego with overcast skies this morning.
The only weather we have down here is the Tehuantepecker brewing in the Gulf of Tehuantepec this morning. The Salina Cruz station reported 45 knot winds this morning, confirmed by the Windsat pass earlier this morning. 30 knot winds extend down stream into the Eastern Pacific basin several hundred miles off shore. Storm force winds can be expected this morning with the winds diminishing to a strong gale force around noon today. The forecast is for the winds to fall below gale force by tomorrow morning and below 25 knots by tomorrow afternoon. Long range has the next wind event in the Gulf late Tuesday night with gale conditions again on Wednesday morning.
That’s what is happening in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where the Great Northwest will get a one day reprieve from the rain and snow, then a large slow moving trough that is currently approaching the west coast will bring unsettled conditions tomorrow night through the middle of the upcoming week,
The storm that has been exiting the Great Northwest during the nigh is producing snow in the cascades and in the Sierras as far south as South Lake Tahoe this morning.
Much of northern California will see light rain today and unsettled weather for most of next week.
In Southern California that weak trough of low pressure off the northern California coast moved inland overnight and will be bringing gusterly conditions to the mountains and deserts of southern California this afternoon.
They could see some light showers this morning then dry until later in the week when the next Pacific system will bring a chance of rain to the southland.
Looking now over to the southwest where for the next couple of days there will be periods of clouds and be breezy at times, otherwise generally dry and very warm daytime temperatures through the middle of the week. A Pacific storm will bring a good chance of valley rain and mountain snow and colder temperatures by late Friday into next weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the el Burro Chamber of Commerce is giving today 4 stars.
That week long blow in the Sea of Cortez is over and long range it looks like the upcoming week will see light to moderate mostly NW winds along with abundant sunshine.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: very moderate SW winds today then moderate NW for Monday and moderate NE on Tuesday.
The central Sea: mostly moderate east or NE winds over the next 3 days. Some locations could also see the winds swing to the SE this afternoon.
The southern Sea: the La Paz area 10-14 NW for the next 3 days.
The East Cape moderate NW today, Light NE tomorrow and brisk, up to around 18 knot winds on Tuesday from the NW.
The outside passage mostly in the mid to high teens for the next 3 days. A bit higher at Pt. San Quinten.
From Mazatlan to Guaymas: Today moderate NW winds in the mid teens. Tomorrow light SW and then on Tuesday high teens from the WNW.
The Mexican Riviera: Mazatlan mid to high teens over the next 3 days. Puerto Vallarta to Cabo Corrienties light SW today and then light to moderate NW Monday and Tuesday. South of Cabo Corrienties mostly light southerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
Temperatures continue to inch up each day. Yesterday most locations around the Sea were in the low 80s. Today should see mostly the mid to high 80s. Spring may be springing.
