Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see the Pineapple Express has completely dried up. The Sea as well as the west coast of Mexico will enjoy abundant sunshine today.
The clouds building along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough are moving due north without the steerage of the jet stream and are bringing cloudy conditions to California and as far north as British Columbia this morning.
In the Gulf of Tehuantepec they are experiencing 30-40 knot winds this morning. The winds are forecast to further increase to minimal Storm Force by early this afternoon before diminishing to a strong Gale again around midday tomorrow. A 8 foot or greater swell will reach well out into the basin several hundred miles from this storm. A Storm Warning will remain in place through tomorrow morning at least.
This latest image is showing some clouds moving over the Zihuatanejo area this morning but it continues to look like sunshine for that area all day.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where a cold low along the British Columbia coast will draw that tropical moisture ashore today bringing rain to the valleys and snow to the Cascades as the system slides southeast.
This system will also bring light rain and mountain snow to northern California starting to tomorrow.
Southern California will see pleasant warm condition today. Tomorrow and for the rest of the week a series of weak systems will move through the region bringing cooler weather and a chance of rain Wednesday through Friday.
Looking now over to the southwest where in general they should see very warm conditions through the middle of next week. A weak system may bring a few showers to the White Mountains late tomorrow. A stronger system will then bring a good chance of valley rain and mountain snow late in the week into the weekend.
That’s what’s going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the strong 30 plus winds will diminish to around 20 knots in the central Sea today. A bit less in the north and south.
Here are the wind details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea: light to moderate NW winds today swinging to the ESE tomorrow and then back to the NE on Monday.
The central Sea: 18-23 NW today. Mid teens from the NE Tomorrow and Monday.
The southern Sea: Puerto Escondido south to the East Cape ballpark 18 knot NW winds today, Moderate tomorrow and light on Monday.
Along the Sonoran Coast from Mazatlan to Guaymas. Moderate NW today about half way then ballpark around 20 for the rest of the passage. Tomorrow and Monday moderate NW winds for the entire stretch.
The Mexican Riviera Mazatlan should see moderate NW winds for the next 3 days. Puerto Vallarta moderate today then light Sunday and Monday. Cabo Corrienties south to Manzanillo light westerly’s for the next 3 days. The Zihuatanejo are mid teens for the 3-day forecast period.
I’m hoping this should be the start of spring for Baja. Tomorrow should be delightful. Abundant sunshine and very moderate winds.
Temperatures continue to rise. Guaymas was 90 degrees yesterday afternoon. Most locations in the Sea today should make it to at least 80 with tomorrow a few degrees higher.
