Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the southern jet has rebuilt and stretches from the western Pacific to Baja with 120 knot winds aloft. The only moisture in the basin is well out around 150 and to the west of the Hawaiian Islands. The jet is picking up this moisture but only small bands of high whispys are making it to the Baja coast this morning.
By tomorrow I’d expect to see more mostly whispys but today it looks like abundant sunshine for the entire Sea.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where they too will see abundant sunshine today.
Further south the Tehuantepecker will be winding down today with gale force winds still in the forecast through this morning. Strong winds just below gale force will continue today down stream from the Gulf about 300 miles out along with 6 foot seas. By tomorrow the winds in the Gulf should be in the low 20s and diminish further on Wednesday.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where as advertized a big honk’n low is just starting to move out of the Gulf of Alaska. It will descend down the west coast today bringing rain and snow to the Great Northwest today. It will continue moving south and bring rain and snow to northern California tomorrow and arrive in southern California on Tuesday evening bringing gusterly winds, a chance of thunderbumpers, valley rain and snow to the mountains and high deserts from late Tuesday into Wednesday.
Snow levels for this system will be around 2500 feet in California. As the system exits southern California it will leave a cold air mass in it’s wake with overnight lows in the mid to low 40s.
Looking now over to the southwest where near normal temperatures will continue through Tuesday when that Pacific storm will arrive late Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. It will not have a lot of moisture left however they can expect some rain and snow down to around 3500 feet.
There will a couple of weaker systems moving through the southwest later in the week bringing a slight chance of some more showers to the region.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we will have a couple more days of delightful weather. Very moderate winds along with abundant sunshine.
Here are the wind detains for the 3-day forecast period,
The northern Sea: light to moderate today with east or perhaps SE winds. Tomorrow the winds will swing to the NW and be in the 20+ knot ranges for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The central Sea: Moderate in the mid teens for today and tomorrow from the ENE then picking up to around 20 knots on Wednesday.
The southern Sea: La Paz and the East Cape light today and then in the mid teens on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The outside passage today and tomorrow the moderate winds continue then on Wednesday the winds will pick up to the mid 20s.
The Mexican Riviera from Mazatlan to Cabo Corrienties moderate winds in the low to mid teens from the NW. South of Cabo Corrienties the winds should be light and have a southern flavor.
The stretch from Mazatlan to Guaymas mostly in the mid teens from the west today and tomorrow then picking up to around 20 knots on Wednesday.
Temperatures will warm a few degrees today and then later in the week we should see temperatures drop from the mid to high 70s to the high 60s again as that cold front swings through Baja Wednesday and Thursday.
