Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Pineapple Express is a mere shadow of its former self.
There is virtually no activity along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough this morning and not much in the way of any moisture or cloudiness in the Eastern Pacific basin either.
The jet is still there but there is not much out there for it to transport. At best we should see some high whispys passing over today but the order of the day will be sunshine.
The same is true for the Mexican Riviera today.
The only unpleasant weather news for our hood is the Tehuantepecker brewing in the Gulf. The Salina Cruz station on the northern shore of the Gulf of Tehuantepec was reporting 45 knot winds this morning. The National Hurricane Center’s forecast is for storm force winds to continue this morning diminishing to gale force through Monday. Seas to 20 feet are forecast in the Gulf today, and winds to 30 knots extend out of the Gulf into the basin about 250 miles.
That’s what is gong on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where just arriving in the Gulf of Alaska this morning is a big honk’n low that will descend down the west coast early next week and bring rain and snow to both northern and southern California starting Tuesday. This is a cold system however the models are not showing a lot of moisture in it so snow accumulations will only be a couple of inches.
This weekend northern California will remain dry and pleasant.
Southern California will remain pleasant over the weekend with coastal fog developing along the coast.
The Pacific storm will arrive on Tuesday bringing rain and snow to the mountains and deserts and then depart the area on Wednesday. It the wake of this storm a cold air mass will remain over the southland much of next week.
Looking now over to the southwest where dry conditions with above normal temperatures will continue trough Tuesday. Preceding the front will be strong gusterly winds on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The cold front should arrive Tuesday night bringing rain and snow to the higher elevations through Wednesday. Snow levels should drop to around 3500 feet. A couple of weaker systems will bring a slight chance of showers late Thursday and Friday.
Well, that’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the wind gods will smile on us today and long range well into next week.
Today most of the northern and central Sea will see light to moderate southerlies today, then NE or NW the rest of the week.
Here are the details for the winds for the 3-day forecast period.
Today the northern Sea today: Light to moderate SW, light northerlies tomorrow and strong northerlies to the mid to high 20s on Tuesday.
The central Sea moderate winds over the 3-day forecast period, today from the ESE, tomorrow and Tuesday ENE.
The southern Sea, La Paz and the East Cape today and tomorrow mostly light Northerlies picking up to the mid teens on Tuesday from the WNW.
The outside passage should see moderate winds in the mid teens for today and tomorrow picking up to the low 20s on Tuesday.
The Mexican Riviera’s weather won’t change much from yesterday with Mazatlan seeing light southerlies today and moderate NW Monday and Tuesday.
Puerto Vallarta moderate NW of the next three days and south of Cabo Corrienties light southerlies.
What a nice way to end a 4 day blow with light to moderate southerlies and lots of sun.
Temperatures should continue to warm up until about mid week then start to turn cold again.

73s Y’all
