Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning the jet stream analysis is still showing a 90 knot southern jet moving from the western Pacific across the Eastern Pacific basin and passing over central Baja. This jet normally picks up any moisture and clouds in the basin and transports it in its path and we have cloudy conditions over Baja and the Sea.
There is nothing in the way of any clouds along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough or in the Eastern Pacific basin this morning for the jet to transport so we have had mostly clear skies for the past 24 hours over Baja. This image I’m looking at is showing some cloudiness along the west coast of Baja but none is crossing the peninsula this morning. It looks like this condition will last for the next 24 hours.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where it looks like they will also be cloud free for the next 24 hours.
That’s it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where western Washington has weak systems will be moving through the region all week with off and on rain.
In Northern California the models have been hinting at a little rain this week but whether this happens or not it will remain cold all week. Highs in the 60s lows in the mid to high 30s in the inland valleys.
Southern California’s weather will be influenced by a cold low moving through Arizona this morning. They will see some light snow showers over the mountains, decreasing today. Otherwise the rest of the week will be dry and warming after an overnight low of 37 degrees in San Diego this morning.
Looking now over to the southwest where a strong cold front has dropped down from the north and will track across Arizona this afternoon and evening resulting in valley rains possible low elevation snowfall. It will remain cold through tomorrow when a warming trend is forecast to last into the weekend. It was 33 degrees in Tucson this morning. It should warm up to around 56 today.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we should have one more day of pleasant moderate winds. Tomorrow afternoon strong NW winds will develop over the entire Sea of Cortez. The long range forecast is for these strong winds to last until next Saturday.
Here are the details for the 3-day forecast period.
The northern Sea 21-24 knot winds for the next 3 days.
Starting with San Francisquito bay today moderate winds in the mid teens today for the central Sea. Picking up tomorrow to the high 20s.
The southern Sea today, La Paz and the East Cape light to moderate winds today picking up to the high 20s Tuesday and Wednesday.
The outside passage it looks like the mid to high teens, today and tomorrow and then low 20s on Wednesday.
For those folks in the Mazatlan area, the mid to high teens for the 3-day forecast period.
Puerto Vallarta to Cabo Corrienties light to moderate winds today picking up to the high teens on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Along the Sonoran coast between Mazatlan and Guaymas moderate NW winds today in the mid teens. Tomorrow and Wednesday 26-28 knot Northwesterlies.
Temperatures in most of the Sea were in the low to mid 60s yesterday and that’s what the forecast looks like today. Overnight lows ranged from the mid 40 in the northern Sea to the mid 50s in the central Sea to the high 50s in the southern Sea last night.
Even though the wind surfing resorts along the East Cape will be ecstatic with this forecast, the el Burro Chamber of Commerce is given the rest of the week a butt-ugly rating of ½ stars.
