Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that that cold low that descended from the Gulf of Alaska has moved east during the night an it looks like it is now centered over northern Arizona and Utah. The tail end of this low is swinging through Baja this morning bringing some mostly whispys to as far south as La Paz this morning.
The models are showing the Sea to have mostly clear skies as the front passes by this afternoon. Checking just a few minutes ago this image is showing the skies over the central Sea to be pretty much clear with just a few fluffys here and there.
The jet stream analysis is showing a southern jet developing overnight from the western Pacific to the central coast of Baja. This jet will be picking up any clouds in the basin and transporting them over Baja for at least the next 24 hours. There are not a lot of clouds in the basin so it looks like mostly whispys will be passing over.
The Mexican Riviera however has been cloud free for the past 24 hours and it looks like that will continue today.
The Gulf of Tehuantepec will be seeing winds to around 24 knots this morning then diminishing to around 10 knot or less tomorrow and Monday.
Looking now out into the Eastern Pacific basin where there is not a lot of activity along the zone this morning, just a few clouds.
That’s what is going on in our hood. Looking now north to the west coast of America where following in the wake of that Pacific storm the west coast will have unsettled weather today and tomorrow then with high pressure building out in the Pacific the forecast is for no storms for next week.
In southern California there will be some lingering showers and even some high elevation snow that will pretty much end by this evening. With the lows over the Great Basin and a building Pacific high southern California will be gusterly all weekend. Next week should see a warming trend into the end of the week.
Looking now over to the southwest where that Pacific storm is bringing rain and snow to the desert southwest this morning. Lingering showers and snow in the higher elevations will last until Monday. It will be gusterly today and tomorrow. I noted that Bob (DLH) in Herferd had a gust up to 44 knots yesterday and was hitting 30 knot early this morning. By mid week the southwest should dry out and see a warming trend into next weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence in general the models are showing moderate winds in the Sea for the 3-day forecast period. Of note; There seems to be some wide variances in the models this morning, however this is what it looks like to me.
The northern Sea should moderate winds today picking up to around 20 knots on Monday.
The central Sea NE winds in the mid teens for the next 3 days.
The southern Sea from around Puerto Escondido south to the East Cape the high teens to the low 20s for today diminishing to the mid teens tomorrow and Monday.
The outside passage ballpark around 20 knots today for the entire passage and diminishing to the high teens for Sunday and Monday.
Mazatlan will continue to see WNW winds in the mid to high teens for the next 3 days and the rest of the west coast of Mexico light to moderate winds from the SW south of Cabo Corrienties.
Overnight low continue to dip in the northern. Daytime highs today will slip back to the low 70s.
The Mexican Riviera will continue to see highs today in the mid 80s.
